what is the best Enthroned album?

what is your favourite enthroned album?
and why? add your vote to the poll

my favourite is "XES Haereticum" because it got the darkness of "prophecies of pagan fire", brutal cold feeling of "towards the skull throne of Satan" and the production is simply great!
every songs are different and as Nornagest said got it's own feeling. in one word = masterpîece!
I think "POPF" remains the darkest one but to me "XES Haereticum" is an album you can listen all the time without getting bored .

Prophecies of pagan fire because I discover enthroned with this album, very dark, very black metal like debut 1990's!
kult absolute!
But the rest is very good and masterpiece too !!
Enthroned never do a bad album, always killer, but "prophecies of pagan fire " is kult and the best for me.

To me "XES..." is our best release to date or should I say my favourite.
It has a little something more with extreme feelings from total hatred to an underrated passion.
Each albums got it's own ambience and mood, and we achieved with "XES..." something I wanted for a long time ; variation.
As Devil spell said, each track got it's own aura and feeling and you can find the darkest atmospheres we created, as well as some of the most extreme tracks like "daemon's claw" and so on.
Each album represents something special for me and has something.

1) Towards the Skullthrone of Satan
2) XES Haereticum
3) Prophecies of Pagan Fire

It's a close "competition" between the first two.

The good thing about XES to me is, is that I can keep listening to it, I hear something new every time I listen to it.
Also, there were some tracks I didn't like when I heard it the first time (such as Blacker than black), but then there's this one riff that appears in it, and it turns into an amazing song nevertheless.
The thing why I like Towards the Skullthrone more is that it's a whole. I have the feeling XES is somehow cut in half.. and sometimes it disturbs me, but it's a good album anyway.

My favourite album is "XES Haereticum", this is the kind of album you don't get or find every day, there is so much feelings in there, it's a bit like Destroyer 666 "unchain the wolves" album, it's aggressive, brutal, transcending something takes you to your guts when the leads shows up.
Every tracks are different except perhaps the two firsts which are in the same vein otherwise you got a typpical enthroned "carnage in worlds beyond" track like "crimson legions", " dance of a 1000 knives" and more death metal track like "demon claw", true black with" blacker than black", "porphecies of pagan fire" with "nightstalker" and new faces of enthroned with "AMSG" and " 7 plagues, 7wrath (xes revelations" and last but not lest the already classic "vortex of confusion".
if I have to resume what I feel and think about each enthroned albums it would be in one word :

"prophecies of pagan fire" = Darkness
"towards the skullthrone of satan" = Intensity
"regie sathanas" = honour
" the apocalypse manifesto" = agressive
"armoured bestial hell" = brutal
"carnage in worlds beyond" = Intense
" XES Haereticum" = feeling

It is hard to choose only one, but my favorite is Carnage in Worlds Beyond because the power of the music is so intense. The guitar work is amazing and the vocalizations are unreal. The groove and feel of this album is raw emotion & I love that! Of course I think all of ENTHRONED's releases are excellent, for various reasons. I just "feel" this release in my bones the most.

difficult choice, I like almost every releases!
personally I prefer the following ones :

- prophecies of pagan fire
- Towards the skullthrone of satan
-Carnage in worlds beyond
-XES haereticum

every ones got something special and makes it to pop up out of the rest, enthroned with those 4 albums managed to unleash a storm of darknend and unholy feelings upon the scene, a fresh air that hasn't been seen or heard since the early 90's ,something like a very few bands can manage to do nowadays along Tsjuder, Carpathian Forest, darkthrone, watain, Malign, etc...enthroned is to me the best black metal band outside scandinavia without any doubt and these four releases prooves it!My vote goes to "XES Haereticum" for two reasons :

- 1st , for the incredible song writting and creativity they still have after all those years
- for the "vortex of confusion" song the duet of Nornagest and Sabathan is simply outstanding!

I like every single releases but "XES Haereticum" stands out of plot.
Each album is outstanding but "XEs haereticum" and "Carnage in worlds beyond" are my favourites, the production are the best the band had so far , the songs are well written and the leads are just amazzzzzzing!
To me both releases features my own enthroned classics like
"vortex of confusion", " Graced by evil blood", " Infernal flesh massacre", " Diabolic force"...

That's probably why I like the first two records so much, "Prophecies" has that raw, filthy old school death metal atmosphere & production.

yeah well, the studio we used for those albums did mostly modern thrash (Channel Zero, MOD, Asphyxia...) and Death metal ( Blasphereion, Dying Corpse, Exoto, Exterminator...)
we were the 1st BM ever to record there ,that's maybe why...

To me "XES...." I just got it today and it is very impressive. I thought it might be just another BM album that goes nowhere but i was rather impressed with the quality of the music, seems like this is a band that posesses alot of talent, im glad i got into these guys.

I got hold of "Black Goat Ritual" great live album, pure raw !
and the new track is very good but I prefer the production of the two last albums.

I give all my support to the mighty "THE APOCALIPSE MANIFESTO", this is a real satanic, dark, wrath, powerful, deepest as hell album!!!!!

Pure Satanic Black Metal!!!!

Carnage... and Towards... are amazing albums too, but I find something missing in the XES... so I don't agree with lots of you, jjajajajajajajajjajajajaja

Yes ,it is;
some weird event happened in Namur (belgium), some centuries ago, the church received the order from the vatican to earse those event from the local history books, but some traces are available within some books from local historians, with reports from witnesses from those times and so on...

Unfortunately I wasn't with two girls in bed while listening that record. i guess i picked that one because i can listen to it over and over again with out changing cd's, there's very few albums I can do that with. the guitars and lyrics are great yes. but like i said it was hard to choose because all the Enthroned albums are awsome and I could sit here all day and post why each one is better or whatever.

Nebiros was fired because he wanted Enthroned to turn into some kind of nu death metal with some cryptopsy infuences, which was absolutely no way!
Now he is out of the "Black metal" world and is married ,have a kid .
He's more into slipknot ,mainstream music.
