That's cool, my and a friend drove to Fort William, on the way we visited Glasgow (a shithole) and Edinburgh(pretty good)

We had planned on visiting Castle Donan, but we were 2.5 hours drive away, about at Fort William, and we were stuck on a windy A road behind several caravans, and we decided - fuck it, it'd take too long to get there. We'd already seen a lot of the South of Scotland, and being that the Highlands is a total void, a few villages aside.

Newcastle is really nice, I was surprised at how friendly the people were, and the nightlife is really good too. There's a really good bay just north of there, a place called Druidge Bay. Worth a visit on a hot day for sure.

hahaha yeah Scotland is a bit dodgy. The only city that I really liked was Edinburgh, the others are really quite uncultured in comparison.

I haven't explored much of Scotland until now, because most of my friends didn't have cars because they were based on campus. I should be learning to drive/getting a car this summer, so am excited for the flexibility that brings...you need to be able to just take off spontaneously when the weather is good (a rarity in the UK, as the stereotype would accurately lead you to believe). I will definitely drive around the UK, even further down north, once I get a car.

The second pic just gave me such a Portal vibe hahah. Especially the door at the bottom, and the fact that birds were randomly fluttering around in the cracks and crevasses above.

Thanks for the comments guys. Just been into photography properly for a short while now, always learning and improving. Everything here is handheld – I need to, and will, experiment with tripod-based techniques like HDR composites and timelapse photos at night soon. Those will definitely yield more stunning photos.

I put up the most recent album of photos on Facebook yesterday, for those that lack more interesting things to do!
