But yeah, I don't really think it's any more proggy. TGCD was where I thought they first got a little of that Opeth bug (whether you want to call that "proggy" is a different story)

Indeed some proggy moments there too. I'm not saying the new albums are a great departure or anything. It's just more emphasis on certain things

If this is even half as good a TGCD and NITND then it will be fucking incredible.

I know it leaked but I'm waiting for Tuesday like a douche. Fucking excited. If anyone didn't see this recent interview or the influential albums thing, I enjoyed both:

Cool interview for sure. I admit I sometimes wish they pushed themselves into new styles since they seem to have kind of settled. But the interview actually acknowledges that in a couple ways, and I surely don't blame them for doing what is natural when the results are as good as they've been lately.
