NHL playoffs

I figured since there was an NBA playoffs thread that I would make an NHL one as well. Any hockey fans here? i'm a long suffering Kings fan myself, I was hoping we would sweep the Canucks last night so they could riot again in their city

hopefully they can close it out tomorrow in Vancouver
edit: just checked the schedule, next game isn't until Sunday

as odd as it may sound being division rivals and all I would consider the Sharks my second favorite team, I usually root for them when they aren't playing LA. its not looking good for them in their series though, now they're in a 1-3 hole against the Blues who have owned them all season long

i'm not a huge hockey fan but i've been watching the phx and chi games this year. they just opened a hockey bar here so i have a place to watch the games. i used to live in tempe and went to the games all the time as a kid.

i'm actually happy to be seeing the Coyotes up 3-1 on Chicago, it would be their first time advancing to the next round. its also a trip how all their games so far have been decided in OT, I can't remember the last time that ever happened? good luck the rest of the way (as long as you don't face the Kings)

i love that they're beating chicago too. i can't believe they lost that second game. they were winning until 5 seconds left on the clock...

we don't have a team here in kansas city anymore, so i root for the blues and phoenix. the bar that i go to has been overrun by blackhawks fans for some reason and it's great being the only one cheering as they all file out crushed at the end of the night.

As a Canadian I'm proud to say I haven't watched a hockey game in a couple of years but, I keep hearing about how violent this playoff season is... Oh well, playing is more fun anyways

I've been a Blues fan since I was a kid. Their play this year has been pretty surprising, they've won more playoff games this week than they have in nearly a decade. I expected them to make the playoffs but they're a team that's been built through the draft so their core is still young and inexperienced, coupled with the emergence of Elliott who was an afterthought to every other team in the league and signed for league minimum only to wind up leading the NHL in GAA & sv%. They should be even more powerful next year with Tarasenko, Schwartz and hopefully a FA signing or two. But the series with the Sharks certainly isn't over yet.

Side thought:

Kings, Coyotes, Blues, and Predators all lead their respective series 3-1, over the next couple days the perennial contending Red Wings, Canucks, Sharks, and Blackhawks could all be eliminated guaranteeing the Cup finalist from the West will be new blood. The Kings haven't been to the Finals in nearly 20 years, the Blues 40 years, neither the Coyotes or Preds have ever been in their existence.

Alright, before Game 6 starts, I would like to say a few thing to the Senator fans of this board and in the world:
