Emulators are the real deal though brom, esp. with a bluetooth controller. I have a portable n64, ps1, game boy color/advance, genesis, snes, nes, master system etc... by using my phone as one, with it's own dedicated controller. I could even hook up my phone to a tv and play on that.

I used to be a collecting these, but I calmed down the past year or so. Here is my list of concoles:

Nintendo Gamecube + Game Boy Player (lets you play GB, GB Color and GBA games through the Gamecube)

Retro Duo (SNES/NES clone that plays Am/Eur/Jap games)

Microsoft X-BOX

The top 3 listed are all terrible consoles, mainly because no one was able to make proper games for them. They all looked fantastic to me when they were released though, but really expensive. I remember both the CD-I and 3DO were like 700-1000 dollars here :D

That was never an option for me. Back then I could not look up the sollution on internet either, so I was just stuck playing the games until I figured them out.

Flashback was a 100+ dollar game over here haha. It was 798 NOK, which equals 139, 50 US Dollars.

Portable genesis that allowed you to plug in a controller for two players. The only downsides were that the battery life was pretty horrible (and used like 6 triple a batteries) and they were prone to breaking (mine broke).

Yeah, same thing. Sega Genesis was the name in North America. It was Sega Megadrive in the rest of the world. Same with Sega CD (North America), and Mega CD (rest of the world).

It is much harder to find games and consoles in PAL-version. That's why I usually get the NTSC-version of consoles.

I got a collection of rare games on my Gamecube and my SNES... Lots of RPGs like Lufia 2, Soulblazer, Skies of Arcadia : Legend, Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 (original AND version+) and stuff like Ikaruga, Metal Gear Solid : Twin Snakes... Am I cool yet?
