a decent amount of former members of death are doing a 5 date tour as a tribute and for charity. i'll probably end up going to the nyc date since it's the closest i'll get to ever seeing death live. thoughts?

Gonna be going to the Chicago date. The cause is seemingly pretty awesome, and death fucking owns. Even without Chuck. Wonder who's doing vocals or filling in for Chuck.

If Andy LaRoque was there I'd probably miss a couple car payments in order to go, however.

Shannon Hamm is my least favorite Death guitarist for sure. He would fuck up half the solos on that DVD, so I don't know whose idea it was to put him on this tour. Paul Mastival and Bobby Koelble is all I needed to hear.

But what's wrong with Gene Hoglan? The drumwork on Symbolic rules, not to mention Dark Angel, Strapping Young Lad, etc. I know Dethklok and Fear Factory suck but that's forgivable for all he's done right.

Hogman does a lot of cymbal work on Symbolic, which I hear is supposed to be cool, but his other performance with the band is pretty irritating (ITP's terrible MIDI track). Sean puts down perfection on one album.

And if we're getting into these guy's other projects, every Reinart band >>>>>>>> Hogman bands. And I like Darkness Descends, it's just he's barely in time for most of it.
