MARTYRDOOM | Death Festival 2012 in NYC

Signature Riff in Association With Order Of The Serpent and Brooklyn Vegan Proudly Present MARTYRDOOM, NYC's Premier Underground Metal Gathering. Eleven of the finest Metal Bands from across the Planet have been hand picked and have agreed to come together for this soon to be Legendary Show.

MARTYRDOOM will take place at Brooklyn's Public Assembly, known as one of the finest Music Venues on the East Coast. This Festival will maximize the venue's space by using both available rooms and both available stages. For this event, all patrons must be 21 years of age or older. Doors will open at 7:30pm. The first Band is scheduled to appear at 8pm.


MARTYRDOOM is made up of the following bands:

Dead Congregation from Greece
Grave Miasma from the United Kingdom
Cruciamentum from the United Kingdom
Sanguis Imperem from California
Kommandant from Illinois
Prosanctus Inferi from Ohio
Anu from North Carolina
Encoffination from Georgia and California
Father Befouled from Georgia and California
Perdition Temple from Florida
Evoken from New Jersey.

This is the finest mix of Doom, Dark Death Metal and Black Metal that NYC has ever assembled for one show.

Will go for Dead Congregation. Who else is worth checking out on this flyer? I'm not a fan of Evoken and I've heard of the others but not their music.

If its mostly Incantation clones then it might be pretty dull though.

Really nice venue btw, air conditioned, very big. Its where Catbomb did the Cripple Bastards/Magrudergrind/The Kill/Noisear/Shitstorm pre mdf show. Some room for vendors too.

Indeed this and St. Vitus Bar are possibly the best NYC venues by far, in my opinion. As for this fest in question.. holy shit! My nipples are like pencil erasers here! Cruciamentum? Perdition Temple? Dead Congregation? Holy shit!

You don't like Cruciamentum? I haven't checked out all the bands but Sanguis Imperum has a different style than Incanworship, and Prosanctus Inferi is more black/death in the style of Profanatica. but even only going to see Dead Congregation is worth it for $20

..11 bands..doors at 7:30? I've been to shows like that, they go on till about 4 AM. Definitely not going to this.

Just caught the part about 2 stages. Even so this will run disastrously late. Start at 4 PM instead and go all day, nobody misses any bands.

Saw this elsewhere, but the venue is allowed to run really late into the mornin and that the bands will be playing on a very precise schedule

Weekends I'm up until 4-5am anyways lol, but luckily there's a bunch of break bands for me, so I should be well rested haha.

So..its a very precise schedule...but it can run late into the morning? This won't be over till at least 3 AM if all of the bands show up and I promise a few will get fucked on set times. If you're going for headliners don't plan on sleeping at all.

I've been at shows in that area that ran until 3-4 AM. Its not fun.

In Schwengers thread in DM section he mentions a Weapon/Mitichondrion + others rumored prefest. weird to have a prefest for a 1 day show but I wouldn't complain have this split into two shows.

Out of the so called "Incantation clones" as of late, they're the best one but even then I wouldn't go so far to label them a "clone" when they have quite a bit going on in their sound than just Incantation. I hear slight nods to Bolt Thrower in the mid paced/chuggy sections as well as some disembowelment in the dirgy/doomy passages. By far they are one of the most haunting bands to come out of the death metal genre recently. Holy shit, I feel as though I need to double up on antidepressants while listening to them sometimes.. lol..

Fuck it, it's about time that NYC got its own fest for sure! One day fest or not, we need more shows like this otherwise all we're left with aside from the occasional big name touring bands is whatever the NYDM org faggots book at the clubs here. And quite frankly, it's getting to the point where I'd have to boost up on tetanus shots just to be in the same room as a lot of them.. so fuck that shit!

I have half a mind to fly up to this. I missed out on Evoken because they cancelled Rites of Darkness. They are an upper tier band for me.

The main guy from Dead Congregation said they had an "off night" at MDF when they played. Shame, because they were a highlight of MDF for me. So if they play again, and it's a better show for them I can only imagine.

I like Cruciamentum (saw them at Rites), I like Grave Miasma, and I enjoy Kommandant.

The rest of the bands I have not heard before. But I still think this would be a fun show. If I lived in the northeast, it would be a no question show for me, though. And great to hear that it's at a good venue!
