KoRn sounding shit wouldn't be that bad of an insult anyway. Sure, they wrote kind of immature music but instrumentally they could make some pretty cool textures at times. I've never listened to a full KoRn album but Got the Life is an awesome song IMO.

in all seriousness, if a band has good enough riffs I can overlook simple structures to a certain degree. I definitely wish Dim Mak's songs weren't so formulaic though. They would be fucking indomitable if they mixed up the structures a bit.

There are bands whose music is riff-oriented and then there are bands that aren't. If you like Portal and you complain that Meshuggah has no riffs, you're doing it wrong.

Seems like a very varied album from them, perhaps not as coherent in vibe compared to their previous stuff, but heavy as shit regardless.
