I know.. Really tho when Jonas Karlsson was in the band i thought he had such original ideas/style that bryssling was like take it. Check out the 2nd solo on A Presence Inexplicable .
Plus some guys rather write songs than solos...Decrepit Birth ATB... Leads just add to a good song don't make it.. I was showing off his music last night talking about his string skipping, speed, fresh riffs, crazy patterns in the tricky parts, and he uses every string a shit load rather than just 2/3 strings a whole song... I hope they release that song they deleted in studio with some extras on a EP next. REPRINT CABINET SHIRTS PLEASE!!! Last edited by self mutilated; 03-27-2012 at 10:23 AM.. |

He said it has to do with the way he picks (with the index, middle, and thumb), it makes playing leads difficult for him.

That Bryzz video is just... WOW. Guy is so calm and relaxed when driving his fingers all over the neck. I have prepared my ass for tomorrow's gig.
Great expectations for Gorod too, I don't really like what they did recently but from what I know they have always been a great live band (and what is cooler than seeing Barby and Erlend in the same evening?). |

Returning from my thousand-year posting hiatus to declare to one and all that this album fuckin' kicks ass. Never in a million years did I think I would worship this record, as I wasn't into Noctambulant at all, but I DOOOOOOO!!!!!

Listening to this album in headphones is kind of annoying, that paper-thin guitar tone grating my ears.

Guitar tone is actually pretty good, still has that 'buzzsaw' vibe that the other albums had (especially cabinet)

Yeah, buzzsaw is the old Sunlight sound. Don't see what that has to do with SoP.

lol yeah couldn't be fucked justifying myself Nova. Maybe buzzsaw is the totally wrong word. I guess what I'm referring to is like in the first fast blasty part of No Light Spared (where vox come in). It's just chords but it almost sounds like its being trem picked, especially with the blasts in the background.

its all good brah, i think this albums guitar tone is kinda cool for what they were trying to go for; its not a buzzsaw but its razor sharp. it definitely sounds like death metal this time around so that's a plus
