^ I was referring more to the fact I fell asleep (was listening at night), or I got to work too quick haha.

I find that this album, is great.
I couldn't me more stoked for a tech-death album. This is truly awesome, the musicianship, the production. This has to be the best SoP for me, a continuation of the greatness from their previous work! |

it's kinda weird to me nobody mentioned Servitude of Souls yet, definitely a standout track on this album. it's got more groove to it than the rest of the tracks imo. the "dirty priest" of "Incurso", that's the way I see it.
also, seems it will take a lot of time to digest and fully sink in but it's definitely not a complaint. diggin the production too! |

While I do admit to own the exact same bass as Jeroen (bought years before I knew of him or Obscura), I don`t see the resemblance here. Or, I don`t know Obscura`s music well enough to be able to copy it. Point being, the reason why I use it is to change up the soundscape with a more heavy bottom sound, playing less weedly, giving room for guitars\drums. Ya`know, bass 101, which is more Jaco based than anything.

I believe he wrote it differs from Obscura, and that it was ment as a compliment. cents

There are some slidey groany stuff in there, so it could definitely be perceived as ambiguous
But hey, if it gets your dick wet, call me some day ![]() |

Just admit it, you can't copy Obscura because it's to tech, youre just waiting for the tab book.
What I was saying is that I really like how a byproduct of the guitar tone affords you the room to have a real and meaningful presence on the album that goes past the archetypal groaning fretless bass slides heard in the glut of post-necrophagist tech-death which can be collectively represented by Obscura, specifically "Anticosmic Overload." Actually, I'm pretty sure The Anticosmic Overload refers to what happened after Epitaph came out and everyone started drilling minor arpeggios and writing ent ent riffs and saturating death metal with bad riffs and shitty shred. Agreed. And in hindsight I regret not using it more than I ended up doing. Not having learned the songs upfront, recording everything over the course of a month or so tends to have that effect on the outcome.

I agree that a bit more fretless wouldn't have hurt here or there. The widdly-slidy stuff at the intro to Anatomize (the album) is pretty cool. |

On a related note, these guys just posted on our Facebook claiming to be dubstep metal. Surely this could be ammo for some lulz.

Cause half the song was deleted so it`s a bit out of context.

Thanks. Didn`t have time. We barely made the deadline and other bands had booked the studio etc. The material will definitely be used for something else at a later opportunity.

Im not usually a big fan of techy or noodly dm but this just flows in a great way. Still needs more listens to reveal all it´s magic but so far so good. Like this way more than their previous efforts and the production is just perfect for this style.
Saw SOP live with CC back in 2004 in a small club with 50 people. Going to catch them soon again and hopefully in a packed club. Quote:
