I love this guy's albums, so this has been my big "oh shit" this week besides the re-activeness of T.O.O.H!, but that's older news (hope that drops this year)
!!!ATTENTION!!! For the first time I have decided to bring another musician into the project as a full time member. His name is Mastin Simmons and he is a phenomenal addition to the brain. So it follows that we are working intensively on a new Gigantic Brain album which should be released sometime this year! Mastin is a multi-instrumentalist and music producer who began producing and writing the new album with me earlier this year. The new album already has become quite an interesting mix of various styles featured throughout the history of releases of GB, plus a lot very cool new elements. The sound is being heavily updated. Lets just say there are going to be some surprises for those of you that have been with me throughout the years. There is a lot more to come regarding the future of Gigantic Brain so stay tuned. Just remember that I love all of you fucks with all my heart. You keep the blood flowing through the brain. - John Brown kinda excited and thanks for the Death Grips heads up...I did like the first disk ok, but am more excited to see how their sound devolves. Very unique hiphop, but not all of exmilitary worked for me. Last edited by Hunter Drugs-Hendrix; 04-15-2012 at 06:36 AM.. |

FYI all, there is a lossless rip of Death Grips floating around. Because the first leak was pretty dire in terms of quality haha.

hahaha sort of. But the bass is properly articulated now, and there were a few other things that sounded off about the earlier rip. Plus the volume has been normalised, because there was quite a big leap from the 320 tracks and the VBR tracks.
Exmilitary sounded a lot better lossless too haha. |

haha I'm waiting for a better rip of this one too, no shortage of new shit to spin anyway.
![]() Leaked AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH EDIT: Only 10 minutes in and this may be my favourite thing they have done ever. Cover art suits the music perfectly, and the sun is peeking through the clouds to match. Last edited by discombobulation; 04-16-2012 at 09:42 AM.. |

New Latitudes sample, this sounds great. Got a strong Katatonia vibe in the beginning, which is never a bad thing. Sounds like it's going to join Intronaut's latest in terms of recent quality post-metal releases, which are getting few and far apart sadly. |

Motherfucker, did you not see my post right above yours? hahaha
MS Painting an afro onto my head won't sort this one out. But the album artwork looks a bit weird, to be honest. |

Yeah I think they've nailed the coherent mixture of poppiness and sludgeyness. Just preordered the LP + Slipmat + Poster for around £20 shipped, which is pretty cool - FLAC download on street date too (23rd iirc).
