Well.. it was bound to happen so I don't see why anyone would be surprised by this in the first place. Suffocation (like Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, etc.) are obviously looking to make money off of their name so.. more power to 'em. Hey, a band gets popular then succes$ is sure to follow.

Of course, I haven't really cared about Suffo since like '96 or whatever.. so doesn't affect my opinion or lack of one, one iota.

Probably just a matter of time. I see that dissonant style is picking up a lot of steam and is influencing a lot more bands these days. Gorguts' reunion album will potentially open the flood gates because it'll be so amazing. I have a feeling that it's gonna be a huge deal in the metal community as a whole.

Suicide Silence. Haha. For a band that plays in drop-A, they sure are not very brutal. Not that tuning means very much, but Christ alive fellas. Who gives a fuck that Frank Mullen delivered some shitty lyrics? Admittedly, his part was the highlight of that horribly mediocre song. Y'know I've been thinking the same exact thing as of late myself! And then both Earache and Century Mediocre will sign practically anything under the sign resembling this style and then some! The sickening is the bands they cash in on won't even sound anything genuine to what Gorguts or Ulcerate accomplished with their unique sounds either. In fact, I imagine they'll sound like more dumbed down versions of those bands actually.
