New Burzum album: Fallen

after Belus proved that varg still "has it", i'm eagerly anticipating this. it should be very good

Thanks for the news man... The cover art looks very diffrent from his earlier covers, but I actually like it!

already ordered the vinyl! i'm kind of disappointed in the cover (gay) but the album should be phenomenal since he does both black metal and ambient black metal.

Damn, that's 2 new albums in quick succession by Burzum. It seems like Belus just came out. I guess when you're in jail for 15 years you have a lot of time for songwriting.

I think the track Morgenroede off of Belus was Varg at his absolute finest and I want to hear more of that. I hope Fallen has more of that harsh, hypnotically repetitive riffage!

The engineering/production of Varg's new stuff really kills it. I prefer the much more organic/spacious sound of albums like Det Som Engang Var and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. His last two have that awful disco beat drum machine (or just horribly triggered drums) and his blasted out whispery vocals too high in the mix.

ehh, I don't care what anyone else says, I still think 'Fallen' is a nice return to form so to speak. Yeah, yeah, yeah.. it's NOT "Det Som..." or whatever but I like the subtle nods to mid period Bathory and pagan metal in general. It's very 'scenic' if you ask me..
