That Delirium Nocturnum is my friends favorite beer. I haven't had it but he was stoked when he found it out of state and bought a few packs of it. They had more kinds too. Looks like a good haul based on the names, haven't actually tried/heard of alot of them though myself

Yeah, we have the big bottles as well. I just wanted the smaller bottle so that I can drink it in smaller portions (compared to having to drink the entire big bottle or put back half of it in the fridge) and spread it out over some amount of time.

Hobgoblin is one of my current favourites.
Delirium Nocturnum and Leffe Brown are great too. |

![]() Now drinking: Hitachino Nest Sweet Stout First up on the list of Kiuchi Brewery's lineup is their Hitachino Nest Sweet Stout. This smells like many other stouts, except that it is a bit sweeter (as the name implies). Though, there is a chocolate presence with a hint of coffee in the mix, enough to set it apart from many other stouts. Taste wise, it's sort of funky at first. In some ways, it's like someone mixed liquid chocolate and some basic form of a stout together. Really, it isn't as terrible as you might think. Overall, Hitachino Sweet Stout isn't worth the five dollar price tag. But, I will admit that I love the art that's on the bottle. 55/100 Last edited by DrippingInsanity; 04-22-2012 at 09:40 PM.. |

![]() Now drinking: Flying Dog's Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA Decided to get this just because I haven't had one of Flying Dog's beers before. You can definitely tell that this is more hoppy than a Belgian IPA, but still has some of it's character (would hence the belgian-style). Thin head with the body being a mid-amber color, as pictured above. This beer is ok, I suppose, but I'd rather just go with an actual Belgian IPA instead. 65/100 |

it was good if you like the Belgian ales quite a bit. having drank it a few days ago and just 1 bottle, its hard to recall specifics but i was pleased with it and the Blond. actually every beer was good and a little nice to have different ones to pick each time.

http://8wired.co.nz/ramblings/work-progress Had some of this tonight. This is an export version of Batch 18, most of this went to the USA export market (even has surgeon general's warnings on the bottle, lulz). Compared to Batch 18 it has slightly less of a molasses/rum flavour and more of a bitter coffee kick, especially in the finish. Try some if you are a fan of this style and can find it. Super thick, oily, rich. True definition of this style Last edited by wachtourak; 05-01-2012 at 06:32 AM.. |

How much did you pay for it? It costs $18 a bottle here. I might buy one bottle as I like the style.

What are you talking about? THAT is a Belgian IPA; The Belgians didn't come up with that style. It was started by American craft brewers about 2 and 1/2 years ago. All it means its a west coast styled IPA made with an imported Belgian yeast strain. For instance, Stone's Belgian IPA is the same exact recipe as their normal IPA with the exception that is made with a strain of yeast that was imported from Belgium. |

I think Pliny is the better beer; as it is soooooooo perfectly balanced. PW is more of when-I'm-in-the-mood-to-be-punch-in-the-mouth-with-fucking-hops beer. Honestly my go-to beer that never fails me is Grand Teton's Bitch Creek. I can drink that beer, any time and any season. Perfect beer.
