I copped the Geomatic album when you posted it, spun it a bit and seemed good.

I generally like albums to be one distinct style the whole way through, unless of course they are designated concept albums. That way I can just pick an album and let it play unfettered if I am seeking a specific mood.
hmm.. yeah, some of TMO's albums are conceptual (Les Serpent Rouge/Blanc most notably, and iirc the last 3 albums are thematically linked) but afaik the discogs style tags are pretty accurate as far as their general description of the albums are concerned (i.e. if you don't see "rhythmic noise" and/or "tribal" in the list, than it's a 90% ambient album, like for example Inferno or The Future...)

just thought of a couple more, some: Sephiroth (mostly dark ambient with some pretty heavy tribal beats here and there. only 2 albums. personally i prefer the 1st), Ulf Söderberg (same dude as Sephiroth, a bit more organic and relaxed than Sephiroth), Herbst9 (last year's double album and the collaboration with Z'EV are the most tribal, the other stuff is more traditional dark ambient iirc), plus some more that i vaguely remember but i'm not 100% sure which album is the most consistently tribal since i listened to them a loooong ass time ago: Camanecroszcope (iirc the Camanecroszcope II album was the most beat heavy. it's a collab project between Ah Cama-Sotz and Iszoloscope, both worth checking out), Flint Glass (i remember Nyarlathotep being somewhat beat-heavy but i don't remember how much. can't remember about the others), and Empusae (i remember liking very much his collab with Shinkiro, and i'm relatively sure it had quite a bit of tribal influence since it came out a year or two ago, the others i listened ages ago but iirc Mortusae and Error 404 were pretty cool and maybe good starting points. dunno). side-note: Tzolk'in is a collab between Flint Glass and Empusae (and iirc the Empusae guy used to be in TMO) so i guess they're worth checking out if you'll like Tzolk'in ;)

tl;dr: i hate everything that was ever posted in this thread. even the albums that i personally recommended.

I have decided that this is my favorite Slam album. Every song has that perfect groove and brutality combined!

Enjoying the new Ulver more than anything they've done in a quite a few years, even though it's all covers

^First heard this a year or two ago. Scared the shit out of me. I'll have to give it another go sometime soon.

My commute is a bitch and I got the whole thing in on the drive home.

I don't understand why there seems to be so little love for this album. The songs are a bit on the long side but dammit they're fucking catchy.

Yeah, I was surprised they had a bunch of shirts that were either $5 or $6.
