It's good, but not as good as I hoped. There seemed to be several things not explained very well if at all, and some characters made decisions that didn't make sense to me.

*info reveal/spoiler* For example, I get why his wife left him, but she didn't seem like the type to leave 3 kids behind with a criminal.

I'm reserving final judgement until I've seen part 2 as some of my complaints may still be resolved. And Cassel is awesome, as you'd expect.

Thus complete's the Hanks boxset. It was pretty good but I prefer Band of Brothers and The Pacific. The battle scenes were pretty tense in this movie though, epecially the build up to the final battle.

I only saw the 2D version but it doesn't make a huge difference. I can tell this is one of a small handful of films that would actually be cool in 3D though.

It was actually a lot funnier than I expected. They're all starting to look too old to be doing this shit but it's kinda nice to know that they are still getting paid to be idiots.

The Apostle was excellent. Duvall is on the screen for literally the entire movie though.

True Confessions is decent. Kind of slow. I streamed this from Netflix.

Been on a Duvall kick lately so that's why I checked these out. Next up is Tender Mercies which is pretty much everything that is Crazy Heart.

i watched that goddamn enter the void movie and i want my life back. what a slow pile of shit. the dialog was sooooo badly delivered. the whole thing made me nauseous and i didn't give a flying fuck about a single character. at the end i was just praying for suicide.

Another re-watch tonight, hadn't seen this in about 5 years.

It's definitely pretty easy to follow, but I think that's a credit to Nolan's writing ability more than anything. Same deal with Inception, it may be a bit simpler than all the hype suggests but that's not necessarily a weakness.

It wouldn't come anywhere near the top of any of my favourite film lists, but I'd settle for saying it's it's above average.

It just goes backwards. The fact that each scene ends with the beginning of the previous scene makes it pretty easy as long as you keep the story in memory.

I'm not saying either of them are simple, I'd say they're just not hard to follow if you don't find it hard to watch attentively.

Not surprised it won best foreign movie Oscar. Susanne Bier delivers yet again. Thomas Anders Jensen again wrote the screenplay, really hoping he'll write/direct one of his own again soon.
