I saw The Avengers last night and I agree with everyone about it being awesome. I generally don't like Joss Whedon's style, but he did a great job with this movie.

How did they "tame" the hulk? When he first changed, he tried killing anyone in his path, including Black Widow, but the second time he changed, he fought with the team.

I think maybe because he voluntarily 'turned' where as in the time before he 'hulked' against his will.. maybe.

shit was a fun movie, you could tell which super hero cashed in more at the box office.
There was no substance in the film, it was just a bang up entertaining watch.

Rubber (2010)

Can't remember if this has been posted before...

Fucking loved this, quite genius. Quirky as hell, lots of references, subtle acting, and pretty off the wall vibe that is fresh. Lots of little touches that make it great, and it critically manages not to get carried away and keep the formula simple throughout. Not much else to say, highly recommended if you're down for something different and amusing – it's on Netflix if you have it.

I think I'm the only person who couldn't fucking stand Rubber. Almost turned it off like 3 times. Didn't think it was funny at all, just stupid. And honestly going in to it I thought I was gonna really like it... dunno, maybe I was just in a pissed off mood or something lol.

Thanks Goaters, didn't know it was being made. But, I stopped watching the trailer after 30 seconds, I was sold on the movie and 2+ mins of a trailer ruins the fun in watching it.

Watched these recently and love them.

Also went through and watched all of Wes Anderson's films again. The man is a genius and im constantly changing my favorite by him. I think Royal Tenenbaums takes the cake for me.

And check out this trailer for the movie Lawless written by Nick Cave. Looks dope even with Shia Laboooof in it.

Pretty awesome. Went in with no expectations and had a lot of fun.
Definitely looking forward to the sequel.
The movie also made me like Channing Tatum, which I despised before for starring in so many bitch flicks.

i just tried to watch it and have to agree. one of the worst "films" i ever saw. one of the reviews at imdb said it best: "it could've been a hilarious 5min short" (or something like that). but there's literally no reason for this movie to exist. and both of those "no reason" monologues were awfully written, nonsensical and retarded. bleh

Yeah this was absolute tits. Recently watched The Divide for the third title. Sick post-apocalyptic movie from Xavier Gens who did Frontiers a few years ago.

Was allot better than I was expecting. Pretty good adaptation of a short story by stephen king.

Then I felt a tail around my neck and I realized it was a fucking facehugger from Alien. big FML moment

Agreed, was really just kind of thrown in there with no subtlety or hinting at all, but the rest of the movie is still worth seeing. Fucking bR00T3l.

June 06, first screening, midnight show at Lincoln Center, Prometheus in IMAX 3D - ticket booked. Psyched! It's rated R in the US. Recommend staying away from any trailers or TV spots.

Yeah, re-invigorated my interest in the film when I read that a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to go in with low expectations though, as I just don't feel Ridley has the magic anymore -- but will gladly eat my words if it turns out this is a return to form.

it was originally written by Cormac McCarthy as a play, but I guess Tommy Lee Jones got interested. sometimes the dialogue comes across as cheesy or stagy but other than that the acting's great. perfect pacing.
