No, that was definitely the most ambitious, serious, and subversive (maybe even pretentious) of the 3 major films he did. Sante Sange is amazing and fun...and batshit crazy also. I can see why people don't like Holy Mountain...

But you should see this...It's Holy Mountain remade with 80's dog movie footage..hilarious

Liked it allot, I can see how some might find it slow, but I thought it was gripping and suspenseful. Was pretty chilling and dark. Bill Paxton really surprised me with this one.

Entertaining but not nearly the best of the more modern westerns. The plot was a bit pointless. Even though it was obviously justified in the end, it still seemed like the whole ting could have ended near the beginning without a major part of the film's events taking place.

i'd wager it's closer to the original, i.e. the same as in english, except the "ee"s are replaced by "eh"s, and the "accent" is shifted from the first "e" to the "u" at the end (so something like prom-eh-th-eh-oos.. hopefully it makes sense). at least that's the way my high-school latin teacher pronounced it (she was also fluent in greek & german)

Theres a Bluray rip online with hardcoded subs for it. The subs were atrocious, but the film itself, despite not being particularly original, was extremely enjoyable, plenty of twists, and well-cast

Hats off to Fassbender, What a great performance.
I really really liked the style of the film and pacing. Some great great DOP work in this thing. I don't wanna give too much away but pretty much the sequence near the end from the moment he leaves the house after his argument until he gets home, the way his night is unraveled to us, the editing and visual narrative through that section was particularly superb. I also liked the amount of single shot sequences in the film, Like his dinner date.
The story is some what vague, in the sense that the movie doesn't seam to really have any strong narrative that's being told, there isn't a definitive start and end. It's like a scrunched up piece of paper slowly unraveling. Rather than a plot and a structure driving the movie it kind of bounces from event to event and there's no clear indication of the time frame in which everything happens. Which is not a bad thing by any means.
.. I could go on but I will leave it at this, a little too tired to type any more coherently than I already have.

I Recommend it to everyone here, even if you think Grand Torino is a good film.

Agreed on everything, great post to describe the movie by the way. I've watched the movie for 3 nights straight. Centurion was cool, under-rated and Hunger was great imo, but a re-watch is in store with sub-titles.

You'd pronounce it like that if you'd treat it as a regular latin word, but since it is a name you would use regular German pronunciation, meaning "eu" becomes "oi", like in the punkrock style OI!. Pro-'meh-tois
