I don't meet many people that dislike Gran Torino too, but I'm always happy when I do. So overrated.
I still think Harry Brown was terrible, though. |

The Grey was pretty good. Best I seen with Neeson in a long time. I'm a sucker for survival stories.

I've come to realize this isn't a good "bad movie." It's just a fucking good movie.

let me guess, you wanted some dirty dancing in the matrix anus on anus scissorin action but got an emotionally inept keanu reeves instead as part of your domination fantasy with gary busey jerkin off in the background

Who gave this painfully unfunny tool 7 rep points within the last week? Hope it was worth it.

Watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Immortals
Girl was good, Immortals was a letdown (especially considering I have major wood for Mickey Rourke) |

The dude interviewing needs to learn to shut the fuck up and stop finishing peoples thoughts and stuff like that. In fact, I would've preferred his voice edited out completely.
Has anyone seen the three paradise lost trilogy docos? Recently watched them all. Awesome stuff. |

I haven't been posting here as frequently as I used to. The Sopranos is to blame for that.
![]() I thought this was awesome. I haven't read the book but as a movie the premise worked perfectly. There was a great deal of depth and subtlety in the tense relationships of the family, and the exposition was timed perfectly. A few of the shots reminded me of Kubrick in a way. I loved the theme of the colour red throughout. |

I haven't posted here in ages because I refuse to watch a movie until my upgraded theater/listening room is completed. I'm so far behind with such a massive backlog I won't even know wtf to begin. I'll try use this thread as a bit of a sifter tho.

Gets more beautiful/funny with every re-watch I give it and I've seen it many times. Think it's growing to be one of my all time favourites...

![]() So... which one is the better cut? Redux is the only one I've seen, so I don't know which scenes were missing in the original version. I'm guessing at least the whole French plantation episode was added here, felt completely unnecessary. Really powerful movie though, don't understand how I've managed to not see it earlier. |
