I once had a dream in which I got to listen to the 3rd Acid Bath album.
It was incredible. |

Rumor was that there might be some kind of reunion next year in New Orleans at some point. Not sure if it'll happen and even if it does..well, no Audie so it isn't really AB but I might consider trying to go anyways.

Good songs on both albums, but some of it sounds like Type-O - when Peter Steel was being all vampy/goth. Gets on my nerves
best song Locust Spawning off PTT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzKyN...eature=related |

We smoke the toenails and hair of the wiseman under a black gods thumb we dance like painted puppets she bleeds orgasm in techni-color an ocean of alien mystery we eat the wiseman's eyes for sight that we might see the darkness if we kill the lights fast enough we eat the brain and pray that our eyes can open wide enough we burn the dry shell, a funeral chant the pulse quickens and we dance as the blossoms fall a scattering of dust to the winds this celebration of old skin I feel every flower that is screaming to consume you the earth and sky your cradle the earth and sky entomb you so is the way of forever teeming with simple cruelties beatings in cold rooms hands and head not found |

Agreed, both are awesome regardless. Paegan is just a huge step forward for the band and is fresh new and unique. I would put it in my Top 10.

I really cant say which album is better, considering both have some different aspects.
Dax Riggs is such a distinct vocalist, and his solo work is really good as well. I just noticed on the archives that some dude that was in Devourment started doing bass with them before they split up!?!? (Joseph Fontenot) |

It's an even bigger travesty that he was in Prophecy.

Now Goatsnake vs. Goatsblood vs. Acid Bath would be one hell of a showdown.

One of the first metal bands I got into and followed Dax Riggs ever since. I enjoyed the first Goatwhore album as well. I remember years ago when I use to get the Rotten Records newsletter that Acidbath also released two other albums containing different versions of their songs off WTKSP & PTT, the one album had Richard Rameriz artwork I remember

Goatwhore is pretty cool, but no need to make comparisons. I went through a phase of listening to nothing but Acid Bath for almost 2 years. I still throw some in every once in awhile. New Death Sensation is my favorite song off my favorite Acid Bath album.

I don't get why when only one band member from the original lineup is missing people don't consider it the the "real" band, when there are sooo many bands with lineup changes that remain the same band in everyone's mind. I mean, I know technically Napalm Death now isn't the same band as the Napalm Death from 1987, but it's not like there's controversy over whether it's the "real" Napalm Death.
