WHATTTTTTTTTT. what an awesome start to my day, really cant wait to hear this. Im a huge Nile fan but was pretty disappointed with their last effort especially since it was the follow up to AOTW.
The cover art is dark and epic looking like if they combined Amongst the Catacombs and ITDS. |

Cheers
Not expecting much from this album but I'll give it a shot anyway. I only really dig their early stuff these days, even Amongst is a struggle. |

Well, it's understandable that they'd take a video like that less seriously than a gig.
Listening now...their self-imitation/recycling seems to have reached new levels. |

Probably like POIT with a lot more of that droning riffage the Wizard has been introducing since SLG.
Anyway, Nile offically ran out of ideas. I mean fuck, Hittite Dung Incanctation starts of almost exactly like Execration Text AND Laying Fire Upon Apep, AT THE SAME FUCKING TIME. Ridiculous. |

I've not listened to the entire album yet, but it sounds better than Ithyphallic. Will give final verdict after a couple of listens.
George Kollias continues to bring the win. Quote:
Hows the new album coming along Giulio? |

We've recorded only the drums so far ( in 1 day and half ) and sounds great! but there's still a lot of work to do . We will finish tracking all the instruments by october anyway , release date would be tentatively february 2010

I dig it. Some of those vocal samples threw me off, but I'm sure they'll serve a greater purpose once I get my hands on the lyrics/short essays.
Quite a few of the riffs sound like they were derived from the previous two, but others are completely dark and devastating like "Permitting the Noble Dead..." Kollias cuts through the mix extremely well and Dallas proves once again why he is a force to be reckoned with in the death metal community. Last edited by ChAAPY; 09-22-2009 at 01:30 PM.. |

Come on, the first song has a riff the same as half of the main riff in "What Can be Safely Written", the third song (if I remember correctly) blatantly plagiarises "Lashed to the Slave Stick", and in various songs the usual ascending diminished scales, the same blasting entries...all such a rehash. I haven't finished the whole album, and will obviously listen again, but so far I'm brutally disappointed (well, I can't really say I wasn't expecting it).
