The Immolation DVD fails because on that particular show they were opening for fucking Cradle Of Fitlh so what would you expect.. The performance is awesome but the crowd really ruins the show.

Liner notes are back!! Can't wait.
I thought the production on Ithyphallic was good. Different, yes, but it still worked. Drum sound was amazing. AotW might have the greatest guitar tone of all time. Only thing negative about the mixing on that CD was the snare. Shit gets lost so easily. |

i talked to kernon some weeks ago and he seemed really pumped about this album. way more than how he sounded with AOTW and Ithyphallic

I just hope songwriting wise it's a bit of a return to ITDS and Black Seeds. Maybe not a step backwards completely, but if they can mix the harmonies of Ithyphallic with the actual song structures or ITDS... holy shit.
Also hoping Kollias is a bit less "square" on this album. Don't get me wrong, he's a fucking machine, but I'd love him to loosen up a bit and go insane instead of just being a really well sounding drum machine. t |

Care to comment on the general direction the music took this time around? Relative the other albums, of course. I'm very curious.
P.S. Neil, you've had that same blessed breast-flexion avatar since, what, 2004 on the Nile forum? You're a dedicated man. :p |

It's probably the most varied album so far. The fast stuff is the fastest, and the slow the slowest. Lots of epicness (if that's even a real word) and lots of what makes Nile unique.
A big step forward, in a nutshell. This album took us months to do, and it's a lot to digest in one go, that's for sure. |

There are several epics. I'm not going to give away any secrets though - the guys would kill me if I did that :)
There's some crazily fast stuff on this record - what was fast on AotW is now fairly common in fact. They were all hardest to record - not necessarily for me, but for the guys. These guys write the most twisted and complex shit, but I'm the nazi that they have to deal with and who makes them do those extra takes until they get the perfect one. Hey, that's what being the music police is all about, right? Seriously though, there were times when we were all completely braindead and needed a good night's sleep before going back at it. The tracking alone took 66 days, and we had 4 days off during that time, so we were really kicking it. |

Nope. The label only just got the finished record, but I'm sure they will be focussing in on that asap. There's a lot of catchy stuff on this record, which always helps of course.

![]() If I might be so inclined to ask you a question Auslander, are there more solos in this record as opposed to the last? The guys can shred like no other, one of my favorite things about the band actually.AotW is godly in its solos, with The Burning Pits of the Duat solo, how the lead & rythem guitars meet up and then go seperate, gives me a joygasm. Then of course there's my favs AtCoNK & BSoV,classics. Thanks in advance!Good work on the past albums btw. |
