Nile- Those Whom the Gods Detest

"The reigning kings of technical, historically-themed brutality, NILE, have revealed the track listing and artwork for their latest state-of-the-death-metal-art release Those Whom the Gods Detest. Produced and mixed by Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, QUEENSRYCHE), along with a stellar drum production job by Erik Rutan (CANNIBAL CORPSE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE), Those Whom the Gods Detest features the bands strongest production and perhaps their best material to date!

The cover artwork was brought to realization this time around by Michal "Xaay" Loranc, whom Karl Sander’s had previously worked with on his 2nd solo record Saurian Exorcisms."

Those Whom the Gods Detest Track Listing:
1. Kafir!
2. Hittite Dung Incantation
3. Utterances of the Crawling Dead
4. Those Whom the Gods Detest
5. 4th Arra of Dagon
6. Permitting the Noble Dead to Descend to the Underworld
7. Yezd Desert Ghul Ritual in the Abandoned Towers of Silence
8. Kem Khefa Kheshef
9. The Eye of Ra
10. Iskander D'hul Karnon

Those Whom the Gods Detest is scheduled for release in North America on November 3rd 2009.

Only Nile could even attempt to write an Egyptian-themed song about dung.

I was thinkign the same thing. Very serious and subtle...reminiscent of In Their Darkened Shrines.

I am worried, however, because Erik Rutan produced the drums...and we all know how that ends up sounding. (like shit)

I'm amped, though. I think Nile will do a better job this time around.

Yeah the part about Rutan producing the drums is the only thing I'm not too excited about.

Nice cover, my favorite album is still the debut anyway, I expect something similar in quality.

from what I understand, Kollias is much more satisfied with his drumming on this than Ithyphallic. can't wait to hear what that nut came up with for this one.

I'm expecting one massive production job too... hopefully. and more than 2-3 songs from Dallas would be nice.

A few songs off of Ithyphallic were ok, the production absolutely killed it though. Hopefully this has a thicker, more massive sound.
