Some questions for Max and Nate

When did you guys start playing the guitar? What kind of music did you listen to growing up? I have been playing the guitar for a little over a year, but I don't seem to be progressing very quickly. Do you have any advice for improvement on sweep picking?

Sorry for the laaaate reply but I hardly ever check this forum anymore. Sorry I'm neither Max nor Nate, but I could probably give you some info. Max has been playing on and off since he was but a wee youngen (maybe 5 years old?). Nate started probably closer to 11 or 12, but I'm only guessing. We all like all kinds of music - Max grew up with Pink Floyd, Metallica and jazz. Nate has always been into metal, especially brutal DM. If yo want to try to improve your skills, maybe D/L some tabs of something you like and stick with it. Also, three words: legato, legato, legato!

Thanks for the info. Tabs are really all I've been using for improvement so far.
