well to be honest, I have seen them far more times than I'd care, especially with Ingested getting added onto just about any Manchester date they kiss enough arse to do.

All I'll say is don't expect too much and you might like it, just after repeated listenings/viewings it gets incredibly boring incredibly quickly.

It's the kind of br00tal stuff that people see when they look at our "scene" and dismiss the entire lot as all being like that rather than finding out about bands like Infected Disarray, Detrimentum and the rest.

yeah, well i could tell by your reaction that your fed up with those bands cause you have seen em too much

i dont like the new ingested material anyways, but i used to dig em

oh and im totally aware that those 2 are not the only UKDM bands, unfortuantly ID and detri have a couple of good riffs here and there but both are nothing overwhelming imo

Plus it's pretty evident to anyone over here why/how Crepitation are on the festivals they're on because of the vocalists ingratiating himself (sucking up to) just about every person of note when it comes to festivals/distros etc, which is highly entrepreneurial (sp?) and applaudable for that reason but kind of rankles a little bit for me when bands get on multiple festivals for the sake of being mates with the organisers rather than any discernible demand from the punters or merit to their performance/back catalog.


I should probably watch what I say anyway as if you say too much against Crepitation you end up getting an almighty ear-bashing from said vocalist anyway for having the audacity to think differently so I'll leave it at that.

what i mean is it's funny how for a band who've only put out a split so far to suddenly be playing Death Feast, Obscene Extreme and with plans to play Tokyo Deathfest and Cali Death Fest having already played Mountains Of Death (last year?), all without having released an EP or full-length yet.

I know it's probably just me being a tool but I'd much rather it was happening to say Embryonic Depravity as then it'd feel, at least to me, as if it were based more on judgement of merit rather than who you know and who you're best buddies with just to further your band.

Just all seems a bit Machiavellian IMO to try and push a pretty bland highly generic band as far as it'll go based solely on the ego of the lead vocalist and his little black book of contacts.

EDIT: oh and Jig-Ai live are definately worth it

Don't worry man, our time will come. I actually think Crepitation are a very good festival band. What gets my goat is bands like AOAA and Ditchcreeper being added, although I've heard something about the latter paying to play and I don't blame the promoters for wanting AOAA considering the money it'll bring in.

It may be fairly reprehensible to put certain bands on solely because they'll bring in the punters, to me it's more pallatable when it's balanced with other better bands on the bill than when a band gets added cause they've charmed the pants off the festival organisers and slinked their way into their good books.

I'm probably talking my way into being permanently unwelcome at any Clanglestrim gig in the future, but screw it, it's my opinion and I'm entitled to voice it.

Your opinions are fine with me, I have just as strong views about other bands, fests, people etc so it's cool. And nah your big, dumb ape dollars are the same as anyone else's Paul, you're still welcome at any show I do.

What's funny though is you do chat like you know the specific ins-and-outs of everyone elses business although you rarely even leave the comfort of your Chester Zoo cage. I mean if you actually contributed something in music other than just listening to it and whining on forums then I think you might be taken a little more seriously with your "inside-intel" ;)

Crep gets on these fests because the live show seems to go down well with Euro crowds far better than it does in the UK...simples.
