I guess it's cos if you don't feel it. then the music's kinda boring in some ways. Not to me, but I mean if you listened to a repetitive band but didn't "get" it, then I guess it wouldn't be the interesting.

I prefer Dust - that three pronged vocal attack is so great in some of those songs. I liked A Murderous Circus too, though it was a bit less original.

I've had 'The Sullen Sulcus' for years, definitely a cool album.

I recently tried to get into Esoteric's newest but couldn't, except for one song.

Shit, keep trying, I've pretty much only listened to that album for most of the last week. Just keeps getting better. Amazing stuff, even go so far as to say it tops Metamorphogenesis.

yep, I love doom at times i just have to be in the mood for it. I'd check out these albums but not in the moood

As hard as I've tried to get into Esoteric (stoned and not) something about their records I cant quite get into except for Subconscious Dissolution.

The best band in this genre, in my opinion, is probably Evoken

I would check out the Mourning Beloveth record first. I think it's one of those records that doesn't really only attract doom fans. The melodies on this record are definitely one of those things that can get stuck in your head even minutes after you finish listening.

Check out this link, for example of that. There's two songs from the record here and has one of the best songs (the last song, Anger's Streaming Arrows) Narcissistic Funeral. I pity the fool who doesn't like that song.

Check out Devived, from Doooom. I like the version on the Loss split better, but this works. This band is a bit more on the depressing/drone side...so i don't know if you'd get into this as much as Mourning Beloveth.
