Lyrics by Majewski

Rising, from the depths of filth the worms will grub this fucking world
Scavenging for flesh
Filthy rotten
Creatures stalk consume the dead
Rabid beasts will tear the skin of all the scumbags that dwell among us
Spewing spit from savage jaws that tear the limbs from tortured bodies
Screaming masses destined to be strewn among splattered seas of entrails
Feasting are these ruthless beasts that crawled from the darkest pits of hell

The bodies pile in a filthy sea of blood
Disease and scum infect the half dead victims
Bleeding from their eyes, festering demise lifeless
Blistering and torn, such a vision of suffering hell, dead

Tearing through humanity
Fiercely devouring
Munching on shattered bones
Mutilating victims
Defecating human pieces
Scattering rotten
The putrid beast’s hunger dies never

Commencing the slaughter, beasts hunting fodder, carried before being eaten alive
Dripping with sewage, covered in fluid, air becomes putrid, life has died
World population, due for termination, human liquidation, the carnivores thrive
A new world of chaos, a wasteland of ruin, iniquities ravaged, god has died

Corpses that fill the streets will nourish the carnivore’s lust for meat
Whilst scavenging carrion endlessly and spew the death on society
Corpses that fill the streets will nourish the carnivore’s lust for meat
Whilst scavenging carrion endlessly and spew the death on society

FED TO THE PIGS
Lyrics by Majewski

Gone, is, all reason
Pitch darkness drowns each season
Minds, fall, in despair
Stench of death filling the air
The pain surges swelling to release
Thoughts of mayhem flow so freely
Regard for life falls the way of apathy
Tearing souls apart, cursing divinity

Crimson dreams of what’s to be
Torn to shreds, Food for the pigs

Rage will lead temptation
Pain begets salvation
Slaughter will set our demons free
We’ll fuck this world dead
When they find the steal penetrate the walls of their cold being
Eyes stare cold and lifeless, empty souls fall to their knees
No emotion in this wraith as the bodies rid of fluid
The pigs born of the flames below, consume all that is green

Death to all that cross, tear out their beating heart, human gristle for the pigs
Death to all that cross, tear out their beating heart, human gristle for the pigs
Fall of all humanity, the violent end that was foreseen
The coming in the form of human plague

Gone, is, all reason
Pitch darkness drowns each season
Minds, fall, in despair
Stench of death filling the air

Rage will lead temptation
Pain begets salvation
Slaughter will set our demons free
We’ll fuck this filthy world dead to
End to cleanse to cease the disease
Fall to hell man’s fate will be
Rise will the beast a new dawn breeds
Seeds of hatred planted
Generations of bloodshed
Calling for a definitive end

They also trade some lines near the end of FTTP, I think. I'll be sure it's Ruben when I hear him do the guttural frog. Seriously if there's no guttural frogness I won't believe he's on this.

I still don't think this is as good as MTD, sorry. But I am definitely interested in the full length!

Not into the lyrics but that's never been a big part of Devo for me anyway.

Mike: will there be some faster stuff on the full length too?

Molesting The Decapitated is the weakest Devourment album easily, can't compare at all to Butcher The Weak.

I can't be arsed reading the preceding four fucking pages of conversation before I finally got to see this thread, so that'll be my tuppence worth for now.

yeah, there is a couple of tunes geared toward speed, and one with an almost doomy, scattered remnants style heaviness to it. all the songs on this have a very different feel, alot more so than the previous 2 albums

For you maybe. Both albums are quality don't get me wrong, but since I wore out BTW and it lost all sense of being fresh to me I find myself listening to MTD more. You never listened to them before BTW though right? I can understand why you'd prefer BTW in that respect because it's hard to downgrade on production from the album that got you into a particular band. I just personally prefer the rawness of MTD though.

seems like people prefer the album they heard first..
but i guess that how it is for every band, preferring the first album that made you like the band the most. at least thats how it is for me

Having had a day to spin these fuckers, I'm really liking them. Only things that bug me are the fact that the vocals could be higher in the mix and the drums, which at times sound like a drum machine imo

Also, production is massive and has an almost Pierced/Covenant vibe to it

Sweet, don't get me wrong I love slow... but the insane fast parts are one of my favourite things about Devourment.

damn, I'm pretty underwhelmed by these songs.. was expecting a bit more tbh, not a fan of the vocals, eric (?) has gotten a lot better, I remember seeing his other band in Dallas a long time ago... definitely improved a shit load. not surprised everyone is cumming themselves though. i'll reserve final judgement until I hear the rest of the shit.

Is Eric actually playing rim-shots in certain fills or is that the tom sound?

No I did listen to them before Butcher The Weak but thought so little of the songs - ie Molesting The Decapitated - that I never thought particularly highly of them let alone spent much more money than about a fiver on anything Devourment.

On a wild shot gave them another shot with Butcher The Weak for the hell of it and got knocked completely back on my arse.

To be honest I know it's entirely subjective and shit, but anyone that honestly prefers Molesting to the sheer bulldozertothescrotum that BTW is, has it wrong in my eyes.

I see it kind of on the same parallel with Carnivore Diprosopus - sans the fanboy status Devo have - in that the first album was pretty weak and let down even further by an utterly awful production sound (to the extent if CD were American I'd be convinced they'd recorded in TX), yet somehow on the second album came back with a FAR superior sound, far more appeal and songs that you could love practically no matter how often you heard them.

It's maybe my intolerance for too much slam but even after really getting into BTW, I still couldn't redeem any merit from MTD for my tastes.
