Lykathea Aflame - Elvenfris
Listening to this album today reminded me of how fucking awesome it is. Definitely one of the best tech death albums of all time. Anyone else like this band/is stoked for anything new they may release?

Yeah, it's not gonna be the same without Tomas...about the promo though, that sounds awesome. I need to get a hold of that.

There isn't a new promo, it's just a pair of alternate versions from songs initially used on Elvenefris that were recorded from some compilations recorded by the band's label.
Tomas apparently can't drum any more and based on the email response I got from him a while ago I doubt Ptoe'll be finishing the new album any time soon, if ever. |

I mean, it's not impossible, but he said he was too busy to motivate Ptoe to finish it and that Ptoe tends to be really lazy. With Tomas no longer able to play drums, I seriously doubt it'll happen.

very interesting band. i was really into it back in high school when it came out. some of the riffing is a bit too strange looking back. one of the songs in there reminded me of the top gun theme.
that promo is at least 5 years old. i highly doubt they'll ever put anything out. |

It's definitely one of my favs. Is Ptoe going to do some vocals for Lykathe or not at all?

Do you have the shine of consolation with female vocals? I dl'd the comp that has it on and its just a remix, not female vocals or anything as significant as to give :P

I didn't think they re-worked any other song than "To Give". It is much more traditional symphonic and quite "happy" sounding actually. Yeah.
I had been doubting whether we'd ever see anything else from these guys. But now with 8 years since Elvenefris, it is becoming increasingly unlikely... And with the news that Tomas has had to give up the drum-sticks (*), I can say that I've given up any hope myself. ![]() * Besides, Tomas should be focussing on banging his gorgeous czech wife instead!!! |

I haven't listened to it in a while, but I don't think it has female vocals on it, at least not the version I have.

Best album ever. My favorite drum performance of all time. It moves me in a way no other death metal album ever has.

Not into it. It's unique for sure, but most of the songs are poorly put together, and the guttural vocals don't fit the music at all.
They were much better as Appalling Spawn |
