That Emily Jane White album is hauntingly good.
Haven't heard any female acoustic artist with that kinda dark vibe, if anyone has any reccs of something similar, hit me.

Lacks the slight huskiness of EGW, still great stuff though.

Check out Rykarda Parasol as well. She's got a great voice and she's hot.

1 - for me anyway, they represent the missing darker and heavier progression of 1990's d.c./dischord post punk greatness that got washed away by mook metal buttfuckery.

2 - they came down and played a free show in a record shop last year.

3 - see above link.

Yeah, in May he's releasing a teaser EP "To Die Among Strangers" with some remixes.
Quote:
The EP features a single from the album, the remixes of two classic ROME tracks "Reversion“ und "Wir Götter der Stadt“ and an ....

exclusive dark ambient track which perfectly evokes the theme of Exile so characteristical of the upcoming album.
And in January he posted a bulletin saying he was going into the studio and had atleast ten new songs and that they'd get released late June.

I'm kinda hoping he dips into the dark ambient field more just to see what he's capable of haha.

Masse Mensch Material > Nera = Berlin > Confessions D'Un Voleur D'Ames.

Masse is a flawless album in my eyes, so it's good you started out with it haha.

Nera is what got me into him, so it'll always have a special place in my heart, but if you listen to it all the way through it's a really awesome album. The album just flows really well and almost seems like a concept album...almost.

Berlin is a sweet little ep, his first release and has some really neoromantic tracks on it, "Like Lovers" is both haunting and awe inspiring in the right atmosphere. Godly release.

Lastly is Confessions, and while I love it, it doesn't really have a theme to it like Nera or Masse, which is my only complaint.

Nice, thanks for the recs. Between Rome and Pyramids you've helped me get into some new sub-genres that are pretty frightening.

Trip hoppy stuff with a bunch of instruments like banjo/violin etc. I think it gets 'beautiful' at times. I'm enjoying all the myspace songs, prolly buying this:
