All because we would have to survey everyone who regular posts in this thread on what's the best.

How about we all just make a top 10, then we could mix them and get the best of both worlds, MILEY CYRUS.

Fair call.
I'd also add Múm - "Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy" at Number 10. |

Top 10 beautiful albums? I like that idea. Mine's probably a borderline "top 10 albums that make me feel a little sweet" but it's all in the same I suppose.
In no particular order... Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago Eva Cassidy - Eva By Heart Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes Grand Archives - The Grand Archives Iron and Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days The Elected - Me First Eluvium - An Accidental Memory In The Case Of Death Miracle Fortress - Five Roses Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun Sigur Ros - ( ) Last edited by Funeral Portrait; 03-02-2009 at 12:29 AM.. |

Just checked him out on myspace...sounds wonderful. Do you know where I might be able to find that album? Having a little difficulty.
EDIT: n/m, found it :) EDIT #2: i'm only on the second song and this is already some of the most gut-wrenchingly gorgeous music i've ever heard. Last edited by Funeral Portrait; 03-02-2009 at 01:04 AM.. |

i love the first 4 or so songs on that album but then it just drops off BIG time for me. it's on sale for 8 bucks this week at best buy so i'll probably pick it up and force a ton of listens in.

I think Yasushi Yoshida is too rhythmically focused and intense for me. But that could be that I judge beauty by how awesome I sleep after falling asleep listening to it. Yasushi woke me up a few times. It's definitely one of the better posts in this thread, though. My top ten: 1: Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun 2: Sigur Ros - Takk 3: Sigur Ros - ( ) [probably wasn't even posted, actually] 4: The Elected - Sun Sun Sun 5: Sufjan Stevens - Come on! Feel the Illinoise! 6: The Elected - Me First 7: Any Boards of Canada posted 8: The Fountain soundtrack 9: Les Fragments des la Nuit and 10: All the Disintegration Loops by William Basinski [posting it now] ![]() Last edited by Martins; 03-02-2009 at 01:33 AM.. |

The Elected are one of my favorite discoveries from this thread. Both of their albums put me in such a great and care free mood.

Yeah they rule. Me and my buddy from high school used to blast Biggest Star and I'll Be Your Man whenever we drove together. Windows open, top down. No, I don't have a convertible. Nevermind. But I get chills whenever I get to the end of Biggest Star. The Elected, Rilo Kiley, and some of Jenny Lewis' solo stuff together make for one huge goosebump.

I suppose I should post this since I put it in my top 10 and I don't think I put it in the thread yet. Incredible shoegaze/dream pop album.

Actually, one of the the bassists of the Elected, his name is Daniel Brummell. He is one of the main songwriters of a band named Ozma. Ozma is my #1 favorite band of all time. Though Sigur Ros is catching up quick. Check Ozma out. Seriously.

I guess I should probably say now that Ozma is geared more in the pop-punk direction but musically, they're geniuses. Hehe

Yea, it's a little hard to judge by the Amazon samples. I'll try to find some of their albums tomorrow.
