So, Shadow Hunter, what are some of your favorite games released in the last 3 years?

anyway, if a game is as retarded and easy and "plays itself" like heavy rain, uncharted etc then it's not a game but an interactive movie, and those are just shittier versions of visual novels where the writing is replaced by moronic cutscenes |

Have played a few minutes of Quake Live so far last night & this morning. Mostly done training shtuff with 'crash'. The 1v1 match didn't seem too bad although after 3 matches, the thing crashed on me. Learning some rocket jumps which is kind of easy since I do them in Team Fortress 2 and just now trying to move faster with these strafing jumps.

Uncharted was done very well and each instalment definitely one up'ed both the gameplay and the cinematics. Minus the jet ski parts. Fuck those parts. I thought DX:HR was pretty good but I was disappointed with the bosses, the ending, and especially disappointed with the replay value. Even though there are different routes (literally and figuratively) you can take for many parts of the game, I had no desire to get very far in a new game after beating it. I tried... but just couldn't do it. Even with trying to do a hard no-kill run. |

I hope that at least games that are styled in the theatrical style stop doing that "hit x repeatedly" thing. Like in BF3, for example. The beginning of the campaign I remember I had to hit some button for the guy outside of a moving train to climb up it.

Those are called "quick-time events", and yes, it's the most horrible invention ever in videogames. In the case of Indigo Prophecy it ruined the whole game for me. Without those retarded "action" sequences it would have been a superb game.

Yeah, fuck quick-time events. Too often, I think it's safe for me to grab my beer but nope, didn't hit X fast enough and died.

Haha alright I added the two of you(Rock Chucker). I've only fought against bots so far =}
I found myself sometimes having problems but luckily only in the rocket jumping/ strafe jumping training. My mouse would kind of fuck up and I get stuck staring at the ground or stuck launching rockets at the ground & I can't get out of it. I really hope that doesn't happen to me in game. |

If Far Cry 2 is indicative of anything, Far Cry 3 is going to be amazing.

Anyone got any recommendations for (gaming) mousepads?
Preferably with badass artwork haha. EDIT: fuck it, ordered a Zowie Swift. Seems to be reviewed as one of the best hard mousepads on the market now, especially for FPS players. Last edited by discombobulation; 06-13-2012 at 07:47 AM.. |

Using a Rocketfish mousepad from BestBuy. Served me well for the 15 bucks.

Just get one of these, unless you prefer the glass or stainless steel types.

you homos have those gel wrist support things on your mouspads? my shit gets fatigued after 13 or so hours. also, my acne is getting out of control. help.
anyway- grabbed fear 3, or F.3.A.R if you will, off steam for 8 whole USD. the story and cutscenes are god-awful, but the gameplay and graphics are fantastic. i enjoy how each little "mission" is re-playable with the bonuses you can unlock. the sound and creepy shit that jumps out at you was surprisingly gory and creeptastic with all my lights off and headphones on. haven't checked out the multiplayer yet, can't imagine it will be stellar, but co-op will probably be great. |

Kinda want to get a new mouse for TF2'ing & Quake-ing. Logitech G300 or G400? Wanted the 500 but I'm realllllly limited in space, I need a smaller one.

Haha mine is pretty generic:
![]() Found it around the house, it's a wireless USB type. Actually feels pretty damn good on Quake but if I mess around with it on TF2, it's not so good. Also don't use a mouse pad(moves around a wooden desk). |

The g400 looks like it has a form identical to the MX518. The g300 obviously is designed to be used by either right or left handers, which usually isn't the best thing. Last edited by Naitz; 06-18-2012 at 05:30 PM.. |
