Sorry for the triple post.

This was the last song I wrote for my old band before they gave me the boot. There's a section in the middle where one guitar plays nothing (it's just acoustic), and that was open space for our lead guitarist to write something.

Dude, yours was a SNOOZE-fest. The only thing that made it interesting in the least was a *certain* drum part. There were times where the deliberate slowing down felt so forced- you could actually see exactly where the song was headed before it ever got there.

And the part of mine that you think is a Necrophagist "rip-off" is actually a blatant Yngwie Malmsteen rip-off of "Perpetual"- but if I was able to make you *think* it sounded like Necro- then I think that is pretty creative. Not that that's even what I was going for...

as of now, I only have one that I recorded. I posted an mp3 of it last... December, I think.

Pretty nice job there. That main theme reminds me of something, I can't put my finger on it...but the tune's no less good for it.

I recorded part of this today using a computer mic and Reaper. I'm gonna change the drum tracks and I got to a part where there would be a significant difference. I put the recording on a myspace for shits, and although I'm using really shitty tools, I thing the recording is at least decent sounding.

Yeah I have a friend with DKFH and EZdrummer converting midis to mp3s for me, and I'm working on toning down the drums, and making them more interesting later in the song. I've already worked out some of the newer drums.

yes, I really like those melodies. very enjoyable stuff.

drums add nothing to the piece and are a distraction at most, in my opinion.

Really? I've actually heard that from a friend. He just suggested that there was too much snare, which I kind of agree with. But I'll consider changing the drum's role in the piece. Once I get it recorded all the way through, I can still change all that stuff though.
