Re: NFL

The Rams also broke the color barrier a year before Jackie Robinson, but most people don't have a clue who they were because they weren't high-caliber players. In history they're forgotten, but to those players at the time I'm sure it meant a lot, and likely had more of an influence in the 40's which helped facilitate integration, which is what mattered most. There were players in the Negro leagues that would've been better than Robinson if they had the chance.

The difference here is that despite Sam not being a HoF level player, he'll be etched in history as the 1st ever openly gay player largely due to the power of media. It also may make it easier for that Robinson type player to come forward in the future, or for active players as well.

He got drafted in the 7th round because of the type of football player he is, if he gets cut, it's for the same reason. That's how it should be.

Looks like Kerry Rhodes missed his opportunity

Re: NFL

Johnny Cleveland will be interesting this year....apparently fantatics (the main NFL shop online) cranked out more Manziel #2's than both RGIII and Andrew Luck last year.

Stoked with how the Raiders drafted this year. would have loved a WR, but i am over the moon for Mack, and i think Carr has potential. good OL and DL depth and ONE OF the DB's they picked hopefully will contribute this year.

also...lol at the draft just CRUSHING the combination of NHL and NBA playoffs in prime time. it's so crazy.

The Mack pick was perfect and the obvious decision at that spot, but I think they're crazy for picking Carr. His completion percentage when under pressure is the worst among the top 8 QBs in this class, and considering their offensive line problems, I think that's somewhat of a concern. He also rarely throws a deep ball, and when he does, he's inaccurate. He basically reminds me of a less athletic and slightly less accurate version of Ryan Tannehill.

With that being said, the Keith McGill choice looks very good. They not only addressed a glaring need, but got great value with that pick

he certainly wasn't my top QB in the draft (all of them were gone anyway), but apparently he up there on the Raiders board as one of, if not the top one. he's the best passer this year. one of the scouts mentioned something about his inability to stay accurate under pressure and throwing the deep ball...but HOPEFULLY the kid sits for 2 years as Shaub guides them back to respectability.

they GOTTA be better than last year

If they keep playing anything like they did against the lions, they're going to get flattened by Green Bay tomorrow. Romo has seriously got to buck up and their D has to play at their best for them to have a chance.

The NFL has reached the point where it's unwatchable. The refs have complete control.

with the amount of lawsuits against the NFL from former and curent players, i give it about 15-20 years until the game is totally dissolved.

How can they be sued? I dont get how people dont realize head trauma isnt good? Everyone knew the risks and played its a violent dangerous at times game. Lawsuits like that should be thrown out or make players sign some special waiver or some shit.

Re: NFL

"The process of the catch" is fucking stupid but based on the stupid rule, the officials made the right call. The Cowboys won on a bad call last week, this week they lost to one. It happens.
