‎5 more bands have been confirmed for for MDF XI:

EXODUS
BENEDICTION (UK) - Exclusive US show!
IHSAHN (Norway) - Exclusive US show!
INIQUITY (Denmark) - Exclusive US show!
GLORIOR BELLI - Exclusive US show!

Stay tuned for an announcement in September that will include additional headliners for next year's fest, including the headliner for the Thursday show.

Regarding the venue information for next year, we are still sorting through our options and weighing out the pros and cons of each. There's a chance that we'll be ready to post the info before the end of August, but be aware that this could trickle into the first half of September. As of now, we do intend on keeping the fest in Baltimore close to hotels.

We plan on having both the venue information and billing complete before the end of September. Tickets will likely go on sale around the first of October, but stay tuned for a precise date.

Still hoping for a few more must see bands. I'm more then likely going since it's not that far away and there's still awesome bands, but not as many as the previous years for my tastes.

Stoked on Iniquity and my fiance is stoked on Benediction though.

I am excited to see Benediction finally. Exodus comes as a shock since they tour all the time.

With the exception of all the Czech bands and a handful of others, the line up is still lacking a bit for me. Hopefully with Ihsahn coming, though, Emperor will be announced as a headliner. That would seal the deal for me at that point...

Benediction was supposed to play @ Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago in 2008 but that fell through.

Nah, Dave Hunt is their current singer. He's a great frontman on his own merits, most especially with his other gig in Anaal Nathrakh.

If Ihsahn is to be believed in his interviews surrounding his USA appearance at ProgPower last year, Emperor is laid to rest forever.

His quote was something like "I will try not to focus on things that I did in my teens any more."

As much as I love both Emperor and Ihsahn's solo stuff, I won't blame him if he disavows that statement to cash in for a festival appearance...
