i remember that most of the people who frequented this board are avid guitar fanatics, so yeah here goes...

in 2004 i went to college as a classical guitar major.
idgaf about being a classical guitarist, and my instructor was a total asshole.
anyway, i haven't actually *enjoyed* playing guitar since then, and almost entirely stopped a few years ago.

1) how does someone *rediscover* their passion for guitar?
2) what's some good stuff to learn to play on a 7 string guitar? i bought one recently, and don't really know where to begin. i'm guessing unearth?

i never went to school for it so i probably never got anywhere near as burned out as you, but taking time off, getting new gear, and playing a new style eventually got me back into the stuff i originally played

haha this board seems pretty similar to what i remember.
oh and i think one of the tubes in my amp just blew a little while after posting this.
never seen that happen before, but i've had them for 10 years, so it was probably past its prime.

do you like jazz? i was kind of in the same rut that you are talking about, and eventually i got into playing a lot of jazz. not like straight up jazz, but taking a shit ton of influence from jazz form and style and incorporating it into my style.
