What's so amazing about it? All the instruments and the vocals sounds great, but the song as a whole doesn't do too much for me. I really like the end dialogue with the acoustic background, but other than that the songwriting is a tad generic. It's certainly not bad, but I don't even enjoy it as much as some of their songs that aren't close to being my favorite. Tell me how to feel about it.

100%. it's a good song and definitely has that agalloch sound, but nothing that blows you away. still love this band to death and will probably see them at the end of the month for the second time in 2 years

That was insane...they must have played for like 2 hours. "Faustian Echoes" live is amazing.

Also, I forgot how retarded the majority of metal fans are...they just can't shut the fuck up and watch the band. I feel like it'd be nice to see this band on a non-metal bill, and in a sit-down theater sort of thing.

Dude thats the way it is in Europe for the most part. Fans are so respectful of the the performance. They are usually fuckin' silent. My girlfriend went to see Joanna Newsom when we were in Rome and she said the audience didn't make a sound, or clap until after the song when she would say "Thank You".

I went to an Opeth show one time, I think it was the Opeth Chronology tour or whatever, and some dude kept yelling, "Play Black Rose Immortal!!!" the whole fuckin' time. And Mikael got pissed at one point and told him to shut the fuck up or we'll make you leave.

My friends into metal make fun of me for it, but that shit seriously ruins the show for me. Whenever they'd get into one of the singing parts on "The Mantle", this dude behind me kept singing SO loudly into my ear, as well as giving some shitty introduction to every song for his girlfriend.

I guess I can't complain too much, 'cause Agalloch seem to love that kind of attention from the metal crowd. Although, when I saw Alcest, Neige was having none of it, which was awesome. They lit candles all around the stage, and there was a ridiculous amount of fog/smoke shit, which made the coolest atmosphere for the show.

John Haughm did some whole incense-burning ritual before Agalloch played, though, so I guess that was pretty cool too.

Saw them a few days ago. They had a long fucking set. Over 2 hours of material. The opening band, Taurus, was boring as all hell though. 2 girl band and they both had hairy armpits :l

Fucking weird.
