Afterwards we walked backstage and Gene was smoking a cigarette, sitting on the stairs, and he was like, "so did she say yes?" Was pretty funny. And then death played "Voice of the Soul." Was awesome.

This is the only video of it that I've found so far. I'm in contact with some other people that might've grabbed some photos / video, so I'll post them as I get them. I'm hoping I can find a longer video of everything that transpired. Here's basically what happened, the band set up for "Voice of the Soul," Matt Harvey pointed out that this isn't your average tour, that it's pretty strange, and then said that will continue, then he said something like "will my buddy Kyle Messick and his girlfriend come up to the stage." I didn't tell anyone that I was doing this, including my friends that were standing next to me. My girlfriend had that deer in the headlights look, and she was trembling as I grabbed her hand and brought her up to the stage. Matt stepped back and then the part that appears in the video happens. Then after that I kiss and hug my significant other after putting the ring on her hand. Matt and I exchanged a side hug and they directed us towards the back of the stage. We walked through the back and passed Gene on stairs, who asked if she said yes, as I stated in the last post. Then as we fought through the legions of folk congratulating us to get back to our spots near the pit, my girlfriend turned to me and she said two things. She joked that I gave her temporary parkinson's, as she put it (since she was trembling during the whole thing), and she asked how I managed to pull that off. Anyway, things couldn't have gone any better. Thanks to everyone that helped me pull this off. We held hands and watched Death play Voice of the Soul.

Oh, and if no one mentioned it, the guest at the Chicago date was Black Dahlia's singer, he sang "Symbolic." He did a surprisingly good job too.

i saw some dude propose at a Hate Eternal/Decrepit Birth/Black Dahlia Murder concert in 2008. I think he did it during Black Dahlia set i think. that show was terrible. Seeing Hate Eternal with Shaune Kelley playing was amazing though.
