Don't mind my mousepad. It's fuckall massive so it makes all my shit look like it's a box set for ants and and should be be at least... three times that size.

I'm always in awe at the bands that get some of these insane boxsets. I don't get it. And $55 for all that? What label has that big of a deathwish? Just bizarre. I love Devin Townsend but I fail to see how anything he's done could warrant such an item. I must be extremely in the dark on this one or something... I just don't see it.

I'm willing to be every last cent on the notion that had Devin been with a major label that to attempt anything like this would have effectively doubled the asking price, easy. The fact that he's on a small label (and I am guessing here) that lets him do things on his terms for the most part would help a whole lot.

I have no idea if you've looked into the four albums, but they're tied together as an idea, but each one it's own beast. Doing this puts a nice close on a massive fucking project that's taken years to accomplish and deliver.

The production and mastering of the live DVD's aren't really amazing to be honest, nothing like the spit and polish shine you see in a lot of bigger artists. It feels like an honest product though. The audio is solid, but not pristine. The video is a bit grainy and the graphics are fairly mediocre considering, but all of that lends to the idea (like with a lot of Devin has done the last several years) that it's a very DIY thing, which in turns lends to the notion that putting a product out of this grand a scale can be done affordably, but even Devin himself said that this was totally over the top and barely doable effort. He didn't even think it would be possible to pull it off.

The value in it for me is supporting an artist whose music I appreciate, but all the effort they put into everything around it, as well as the message they send in how they approach certain things related to what's going on.

I like artists like him in any genre really. He's got the same work ethic you have and it shows in everything you fuckers do.

The Obscene Extreme Festival has just been anounced to have have a date in Melbourne Australia next year ... Hopefully Cattle can get on that lineup ! It looks like our best hope to get them out here at the moment ... I would gladly drive 9 hours to see them !
