Weezy got lost after Drake took the rich and depressed persona to new levels and stopped working with him full time, HYFR is easily the best track he did in ages. He's trying to act like he's Tyler or something and rap about fun but dumb shit, that ain't gonna cut it. Needs more I hope I wake up after all this sizzurp Wayne and less Corey Gunz ghostwritten Wayne.

HELL YA HELL YA FUCKIN RITE FUCKIN RITE AWWRITE

I don't post that much rare finds on here, most go on my very exclusive and rare limited facebook profile.

CRAZY IDEA: you could listen to both. I don't get the comparison either. Yeah, they both have unusual voices, but that's where it ends.
Also, you're preaching to the choir, since I'm the biggest Danny Brown dickrider there is(I rec'd him twice on the first page and a few other threads btw).

True, but there's also nothing wrong with that, like I said I like my fair share of MF Doom, Aesop Rock and Eyedea as well. It's like with metal, some people love listening to Gorguts/DSO/Immolation, but like putting on some Dying Fetus from time to time. You know, music taste is not a competition, you don't always have to listen to artistically superior music. It's about your personal entertainment after all and this is probably the reason why the majority of people likes listening to "pop entertainers" instead of artsy wordsmiths. I don't see the big deal.

THE HORROR. Bragging about how rich you are...that definitely must be a first in rap music.

Pretty dumb mindset. If you enjoy it, just listen to it. I hate to break it down to you, but no one cares if you do or if you don't. You really don't get any credit points for stuff like that. That's some black metal trve untrve shit right there.

weak ass analogy. The thing you're are trying to say is, IF Disturbed would be considered death metal among the lines of Gorguts(since that touring comparison doesn't make any sense), then no one would accept the idea, which is obviously correct, but it doesn't work applied to rap, because the subgenre's aren't as clear as in metal. Also, I'll bet you won't find one person on this board, and even outside of it - if they have a slight understanding of hip hop - that would name Wayne the GOAT and put him above let's say GZA or Nas. Lil Wayne is like Disturbed, a simplified mainstream act from a larger subculture and everyone knows it.

Whatever, Fashawn is about to rescue the thread:

edit: any idea if Darq and Danny Brown are doing a whole album or was it just for that one song, Szadou?
and what's up with Tempa T anyway. Put out some of the beefiest grime there is and kinda disappeared it seems.

I wasn't really being serious at this point.

There is nothing wrong with listening to pop music but he should be treated as a pop star rather than a hardass rapper. Why do other rappers allow him to collaberate? They should talk shit about him in their songs and outcast him as a pop star rather than a respected rap artist.

I just went back on youtube now to see if maybe I'm missing something and there are some decent beats but, others are really minimalisitic which makes the whole song depend on Wayne and he can't flow at all! Especially when he's busy singing with the auto-tune cranked.

I know it's not a first but, it's his only topic

I don't ever expect people to follow my lead but, I refuse to listen to many bands/artists that I probably would enjoy based on things outside of the music or trivial shit within it. There is so much unheard music that I can pick apart every artist and if there is one thing I disagree with I move on to something new. Fuck 'em! They're all expendible.

....and yeah the Gorguts comparison was pretty weak. My bad.

...Anyways enough Li'l Weak talk. New El-P could be interesting
