I recorded this black metal thing for my friends. Actually it's written mostly by Jon (ex-Altars, Sarsekim) and Alan (Altars, Sarsekim, Tzun Tzu) and we all three did vocals on it, me the depressive high ones, Alan the middle sort of gravels, and Jon the real tough Venom sort of things and some various death growls and insane screams.

Jon's writing is amazing, full of texture, it's almost like a black metal new-wave 80s sort of deal.

The drum recording was done with five $20 dynamic mics, and I like how it sounds. Raw but clear.

These are two guest solos that I've recorded for my friend's power metal band a couple of months ago. They sound very 80's / video game-like. Nothing is mixed / edited yet, the sound is quite raw and the harmonies are not centered like they should :

Here's some other guest leads that I recorded for one of my friend's band a year ago. I cut the two parts from the song that I'm playing on and put it in one file. They asked me to record/write a neoclassical "lead riff" and a tapping part in the first section (my guitar is panned on the left channel). There's a solo that comes in at 1:01 too :

I recorded this 2 years ago. I didn't do the leads though. The project has been on hold since then. We're recording a full length album later this year. The current vocalist in Vengeful also recorded the vocals in that track.

For the bass drum, would you guys suggest just turning the volume down on the kick? Or try to take some of the click away?

And Yeah, I did name the project after the DS song, I didn't think of that as a bad thing.
