Southeast Virginia. It's a 4.5 hour drive. I'm hoping to stay in Richmond the night before and shave off 1.5 hours of it.

Also, I'm trying to save a few gas dollars. Anyone on the way up I-95N needing a ride, wanting to ride shotgun, and as mentioned- with a few gas dollars for me, send a message.

how far is best western from Sonar? i want to say that the Lexington stop wasn't far from Superfresh because it was the first place we walked to going to the hotel after we got off. anyone more familiar with this please chime in, i had a good sense of direction last year where we were walking from being there in 2010 but it doesnt hurt to be sure

just looking on the map, lexington market and the light rail station isnt too far from you but it looks like there's a Charles Central metro stop even closer, but im not sure how/where all the light rails travel really. i think i'll just get off where i did last time since i'll know where im at and have a few hours before the fest starts. i just looked at your best western address and the metro stops were the blue/white M logos on the map fyi

I live just a few miles away. Might ride a bicycle or take a cab, or drive. Got to decide later based on how much I want to drink or not drink...

But I'd fly half way around the world to get to this fest. It is the best.

we have no light rails either like that here but its really as simple as taking it from the airport to your stop you need to get off at. it stops at every one. all i have is about a backpack worth of shit and travel lightly. if you have a smartphone you can also just use walking directions to get somewhere even if its only a couple blocks away. or else you gotta take a cab!

yeah, i will probably just take a cab after i get off the stop. would i just call one? or how stop one? haha. i will def. have a lil more than a back pack... i tend to overpack always.

also don't have data on my phone, so i couldn't use gps or anything.

If you have Verizon and no data plan they used to allow you to use a GPS app for like $2.99 a day I think.

the only way i could imagine getting a cab if you were already out in the city is to just try and wave one down. if that seems like too much of a hassle, id think getting one at the airport would be the easiest way to get to your hotel if you arent going to be able to walk with all your luggage. it is usually way too hot to be wandering around with luggage looking for where you need to go mid day in baltimore.

Did you see my post at the end of page one? Cabs, by law, are a $30 flat rate from the airport to downtown and vice versa. If you're gonna do it, just do it from the airport and enjoy the convenience.

yeah... but isn't the transit or whatever like only a few bucks? and can't you buy a 2 way pass? how much would a cab fair be from the stop to the hotel? or i mean just the general fair?

asking only i assume you know.

not sure what that means, id definitely not let worrying about a cab/etc ruin going to MDF. just saying like Swede did, easiest thing might just be a cab right to where you need. with the rails, you have to wait for every stop and it does take some time compared to a cab. it's only like less than $2 but you're gonna have to walk a little bit if you use it. just comes down to price vs walking. plus its crowded with obnoxious people. i use it anyways. : )

I don't know the distance you'd need to go from the stop, but here's general cab info...

Super Shuttle is the happy medium too. It's right by the baggage claim and still pretty quick.

tip for also not bringing as much shit home and making more room for merch. i give away all my toiletries and shit that takes up room to crusties or leave it out for someone else.

4th year straight driving from Montreal to MDF. Always fun telling the coastguard that we're going to a deathfest in Baltimore.

I'm driving up from VA (Northern area) and staying at the Best Western Plus on O'Donnel street, will probably take 2 hours at least.
