Yeah I heard its not exactly a full-length. I would say I like about that many tracks from Muse in Arms (there's a couple I think slowed it down), so I'm really really hoping that all of the new songs will be the caliber of the songs I like on that album. This wait better not be for nothing, also wouldn't be surprised if there's a change in sound, was a bit derivative before.

New ORE was sort of like what Spiritual Front did around the same take, took the previous sound and aesthetics which made it so unique in the first place, and ran with it, a little too far if you ask me, but both albums from both bands grew on me eventually, and people say the same thing about Nos Chants Perdus. I like that martial/neofolk has gone in a less derivative direction, although each artist has always had their own take on the sound in the first place, part of what makes the scene so attractive.

Do you know exactly what's going on with the Rome dates in Texas? There's a date that ambiguously says "Houston/Austin", I have emailed and emailed about setting up something here but never get replies. There's also travel dates before and after the show, so I'm wondering if he'll get to play twice here, if he does I will go to both.

Having listened to it, second favorite Triarii stuff for sure, but I agree not as awesome as Muse in Arms. The lyrics are silly and cliche, it sounds like he's ripping himself off. I don't like that he's STILL using that little noisy "EAH" thing from Europa on every other track now. Definitely one of my favorite things from that song, but he could've easily done something very simple to make it sound just a bit different.

So yeah, disappointed, but it could be much worse, and it's still good just not great. Gonna listen to it for a while and see if it grows, but will probably eventually just return to listening to Muse in Arms until the next full-length comes out. Glad this is not a full-length so he has another chance to step it up. Maybe this is meant to be a bridge between MIA and the next album.

This is indeed a grower. The vocals might've suffered a tiny bit, but the music definitely is compensating. This is indeed 7 songs, not 3 or 4 songs with vocals and then some interludes like I originally thought. The instrumental songs stand very nicely on their own. And that final song might become my favorite Triarii song yet. Looking forward to the full-length whenever it comes and even more to new TriORE. Glad he has continued to keep guitar out of this and leave that as an outlet for TriORE.
