Polyrhythm Drum work
So, I got an offer to play with a guy, but I need to brush up on my music theory, and particularly, get comfortable with polyrhythms on the drums. Any suggestions? I understand basics, like in New Millenium Cyanide Christ by Meshuggah, Thomas Laake plays the bass drum in 3/4, and the top in 4/4, so every 4 bars of bass, and 3 bars of up top, the time signatures line up.
These are the type of polyrhythms I have to write to. I'm not playing the programmed stuff. Well, seeing as I can't post urls, go to reverbnation.com, and search for instinct for rank. |
