That's cool. I personally never liked Pantera much either, especially with so many bro types trying shove it down your throat and all the worst guitarists at guitar center unrelentingly playing their songs. Alot of groove oriented bands defiantly do get pretty stale and do very little to differentiate themselves from every other band. Sometimes I see parallels to booty dance music in hardcore and even some "slam." I swear it won't be long until someone decides to have a fucking Reggaeton breakdown in their song and it becomes the norm and ninjas get fuckin serious and fight over the shit.

That's why in the brutal death genre i'm really into bands like cenotaph right now. They have some pretty sick breakdowns in songs. The best part though, is that said breakdowns are really mathy and pretty undancable. I would love to see these guys live on a deathcore bill just so I could see all the karate implode when they couldn't figure out how to dance because theres a 23/8 breakdown or something.

I can only imagine how funny it would be when some corekids made them self look even stupider failing worse than usual trying to dance to parts of this song.

Aside from all the slam talk, I barely got into this deathgrind band from Scotland with a female(Polish, I think?) vocalist. Pretty killer song.

Yeah. These guys are sick. Their latest release turned out being one of the better releases of 2010. Not only that but they got some guest vocals from Angel of Cephalotripsy.

i think im just gonna listen to doom until this whole 'slam' craze blows over, then life as we know it can go back to normal ... going to see monarch! on friday night - pretty excited in the pants for this ... play slow or die !

FINALLY a girl in extreme metal that doesn't sound like one. Nice deathcore moves she's got though, :)

I think we actually played with that band recently somewhere in Europe, I recognize the name. They're pretty decent judging by that video.

Yeah but listen to how processed those vocals are. I'm sure live it's different. It was the same way with that one band I showed you from Des Moines. Recordings didn't sound like a girl at all. Live was a different story.

Only chick I know that can pull it off live is that broad that use to be in Despised Icon. I didn't even know they had a female vocalist 'til like a year ago.

Yeah, there really aren't that many bands that use pitch shifting effects or anything like that anymore. Its possible to do the same sounds without em. Alot of em can't do it very loud though. This chick definitely can pull it off, refreshing!
