The Muslims are getting pissed at the name because pigs are like bad luck. So if they get contract it it's double bad for them. They are wanting to call it "Mexican flu".

Oh and keep in mind, this is isolated to North America right now. In 24 hours there have only been three additional cases confirmed.
The spreading of it IS slowing down quickly. |

The potential, obviously.
As you may know, the flu that is in the states right now isn't the same as the one in Mexico, but it's still genetically identical, which is the cause for alarm. But how is it slowing down if deaths in Mexico are rising and the U.S. cases are doubling/occuring in other areas other than the south now? |

From what I can tell and from what I've read they are the same but nobody here is dying apart from one 23 month old in Texas. Children that young have horrible immune systems, they're still in development or just finished developing and it may be the first real test they face if they get seriously sick at that age. People here with CONFIRMED cases in Delaware have stayed at school while being treated. 3 of 4 did this. The other one went home to get treated. Basically what I'm saying is even those infected are being treated and seem to be improving in the US. Whats going on in Mexico? I can't say..but maybe different conditions are having different outcomes. Maybe vaccinations we get as children help fight these sorts of things off? I don't know. For some reason there is only ONE fatality in the US and its an extremely young child which sort of makes sense given how children develop. |

Oh and as far as slowing down, only a handful of new H1N1 cases were actually confirmed in 24 hours. People may have the flu but not the flu we all think it is.

"None of the 40 cases so far in the United States have been very serious. But the virus here is genetically identical to the strain of the virus that is killing people in Mexico. This is a new virus so there's no natural immunity. It has the potential to spread very widely. That's what raises worries about a possible pandemic." |

Either way I'm still not particularly worried. I'm more worried about the diseases we're not aware of. Have you seen a mortality rate in Mexico for the people with h1n1 or no? |

Mexico's healthcare system is shitty. I bet you half of the people who died didnt even get any treatment.

The kid that died here was from Mexico I believe, so it doesn't really count.

So it was more just a fatality on US soil, not a US fatality. Interesting.

From what little I've gathered, it was a kid in Houston getting treatment after fleeing mexico.
Could be wrong but that's the story I keep getting. Alot of schools and events are closed down here now, it's getting ridiculous. Quote:

let's not forget that 20,000 people a year die from complications of the common flu.

"Mujahideen fighters then ate the deer and rabbits and shot dead the zoo's sole elephant. Shells shattered the aquarium.
One fighter climbed into the lion enclosure but was immediately killed by Marjan, the zoo's most famous inhabitant. The man's brother returned the next day and lobbed a hand grenade at the lion leaving him toothless and blind." ![]() |
