Test Mix with the Ibanez RG2228 8 String

Well i finally got this POS Mbox 2 to work along with Pro Fools and did a test with the 2228 and the SM57 for anyone who might be interested (probably not). Id just like to hear someones opinion. Theres no EQ, drums or anything, its all raw. Its through a Peavey Valveking 212 combo shit amp and a Boss GT8. I need to work on my presets though to get rid of this annoying fizz and crackles. Also the sound my amp makes when the input is too high. You can JUST hear it before i start playing. Speaking of playing, WARNING: VERY BAD AND SHITTY/SLOPPY PLAYING. I couldnt think of anything to play so i just played w/e came in mind while it was recording. And for some reason i think Amon Amarth came in mind at one point haha. Tell me you what think:

yeah theres too much highs, i havnt played around with it yet. I have no clue how to use Pro Tools rofl

Test mix with a nice guitar plugged into a bunch of shitty equipment isn't going to yield that great of a result. Sorry dude. Bitchin' guitar though. Hopefully things improve.

kind of obvious im looking for advice. The reason i didnt "Mix" anything is because i wanted to improve my "raw" tone but then again it never sounds like that off mic so im kind lost when it comes to recording guitars that dont sound like shit when recorded. But i guess i posted this on the wrong board haha

for one thing, too much low, and it sounds like your mids are scooped, then dragged through the remnants of a parade, including 2 tons of horseshit and a few toddlers.

Nah the mids arent scooped lol thats one thing i dont do haha. It could be the Sub EQ i was using though, not sure. But the latter part of your comment seems about right

did you DI your signal and add plug in processors to it or did you mic the amp?
