New album info?

Now that you guys are all done recording and everything do you know what the tracks are gonna be called, what the album is gonna be called and a ballpark on the release date? Also, is there away for us to get the Japanese version? Why is at that bands always release more songs in Japan? Is there something really special about fans in Japan?

Not releasing any of that info until a few weeks from now.

The only way to get the japanese version is in japan or online. They cost way too much. There is a bonus track that isn't on the US version and it IS an entirely different song, not a noise track, not a demo, an actual whole other song. Japan for some bizarre (who would have thought huh?) reason requires bonus tracks on their releases. CDs generally cost more there so there has so be some incentive. I don't know why we even bother to be honest. Never been there. No interest coming from there. Very VERY little feedback about us comes from there. Literally every other country in the world, just barely anything from Japan. I have no idea why. Or why we entertain the idea of giving them bonus tracks after all that. I'd rather Australia, UK or South America get it since they actually give a shit.

OK thanks. Since i'm gonna buy the cd anyway i'll just go ahead and buy the japan version. How do you do this? Will Louis and such stores have it or can you order it online or do you have to pay up the ass on ebay or something?

Weird, I was just going to say that LambGoat had a story on this and posted some of the names of the tracks- just went to find it, and it's gone. I'm sure there's a reason for that...

Some of the titles were mildly cleaver.

Did it from my phone ...it likes to guess words. For some reason every time i try to type your name it tries to replace it with "fag". Weird.

Maybe it was extra clever to say cleaver? I'm just grasping at straws though.

I had a look at the Metal Blade website to see if there was any info about it and there isnt much about the new Cattle album at all. And you have to go to the Cattle artist page to find what little there is.

They got a whole heap of news on other shitty bands on the main page but there doesnt seem to be much love for Cattle on there at all.
The Cattle artist page still has Troy listed as a member. Haha

I thought MB would be putting a bit more effort into spreading the word about this beast of an album that will be spewed onto us puny humans very soon !
I might be way off about this but it seems that way. I hope I'm wrong, I hope this release gets the attention and recognition it will no doubt deserve.
Maybe after monday if they do release pre-order info, album details and a song etc it will start to get a bit more promotion.

On a side note something that really pisses me off is there is really only 1 big chain of record stores here in Australia (JB HI-FI) and I cant ever remember seeing a Cattle cd in the metal section in any of their stores I have been to in Melbourne, Adelaide or Sydney. I would never buy from them anyway because they are a rip off haha but they should still stock it for all the other dumb cunts that do buy cds from them ... Hopefully they stock the new album !

Very interesting that you said something about that, I have always meant to ask.

Travis- Are they proactive for you guys as far as promotion, or does a lot of that fall upon you? I'm sure you guys don't get the same kind of support that Metal Blade throws behind, for example, a new Cannibal Corpse record, but I hope you don't get lost in the mix.

ShittCuntt- Is the record store availability problem limited to metal?

what exactly do you mean ?

They have a pretty big metal section in most of their stores so I browse quite a bit if I walk by one and have some time to kill.
But I have never once seen a Cattle Decapitation cd in any of the chain stores I have been into - and I always look.
The 2 Independent stores in Melbourne (both now sadly gone) stocked them, one of them even had the early releases from 31G.
Maybe it was because of the artwork on the earlier MB releases or lack of interest from the deadbeat bogan cunts that fill this country, I dunno.
Maybe I should go into all the stores and request they get them in !

!
Label/Mgmt pages almost never update that shit. It's a pain in the ass because about 99% of the time they have webdesigners running the site; they don't do it themselves.
As far as promotion goes that all comes down to management. The label will provide what they think is adequate promotion (because that's in their best interest) but a manager goes in there and fights for more. I've talked with them about this before and was surprised to find out who was 'managing' them. I don't know if they are without now? I think last time we talked about it they were looking to get on w/a mgmt group, but that's for them to discuss.

The bigger bands are always going to get the bulk of the promotion though.

I'm gonna do my part and promote this upcoming tour though!

Agreed ... But as Australias largest chain of record stores I think its bullshit that they dont stock any Cattle cds ... No wonder we cant get them to tour out here ... It's almost embarrassing

They're only going to stock what they know is going to sell and in today's market it's a lot less than what stores could justify dedicating a premium of floorspace to. Cattle Decap will never chart on that list. I would be shocked to find out that they did. On their website? Hell yeah.

I can't get over how cluttered these stores feel. Between the small size of a store, narrow aisles everywhere and shit just packed to the gills, I fucking hate shopping in stores, not to mention the bogan fucks that go around with heads so far up their ass that I'm positive they're farting repeatedly just to allow themselves to breathe. I hated people like that in stores in the US, bust shit, at least the aisles were spread out wider.

I feel like I'm in a fucking bodega, every goddamned store I go into and for as much I have fucking loathed having to be around people in the US, I am even more so here. It's not something I know will ever change so I'd rather just not go at all. Stack in a 10% GST on top of the "fuck you, because we can" tax that all retailers seem to like to apply, there's no fucking winning hardly.
