Cattle Decapitation enters the studio to record new album!!!

CATTLE DECAPITATION BEGINS RECORDING OF NEW ALBUM!


Cattle Decapitation entered Denver, CO's FLATLINE AUDIO on January 7th to record the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically-acclaimed album The Harvest Floor (2009 on Metal Blade Records). Frontman Travis Ryan has this to say:

"We spent the first two days mapping out tempos and getting things situated, drums mic'd all that stuff. We are on day three of tracking drums and everything is sounding great! We're excited to start laying down some tones and getting this beast finished and in the hands of our fans and friends."

The band has a small crew filming all steps of the way so fans of the band can look forward to studio video reports via the band's YOUTUBE channel and getting the full album details in the coming weeks when album title, cover image and track listing as well as immediate U.S. and European tour plans are revealed!*

YES.

And its not just a picture disc this time! I'm going to push for a gatefold but they're definitely doing a sleeved version.

I have the album art. Its fuckin unreal. Will look awesome on a 12" sleeve.

RAD ! Because as much as I loved the Harvest Floor picture disc I think the Karma vinyl was better, I loved the Humanure and To Serve Man vinyl's too ... I dunno I'm just not a huge fan of just the picture disk by itself in a plastic cover. I love the gatefolds or at least a sleeve - Great to hear this news !

Also have you decided what the extra songs are gonna be on the Japanese release of the CD ? Will they be new songs not on the regular edition or live versions of older songs ? ... I'm kicking myself I didnt grab copies of the Jap versions of Karma and Humanure when I had the chance, gonna make sure I get this one !

New Cattle Decapitation album that will definitely kick ass, new Cannibal Corpse; their releases tend to be enjoyable, probable new Cryptopsy album which I'm really anxiously looking forward to like crazy, new Burzum; Varg has been pumping out albums since he came out, and plenty of other bands releasing stuff this year.

Sorry to get off the subject of new Cattle - but is the newer Burzum stuff any good ? I havent listened to even 1 song Varg has done since he has been out ... I havent really liked any of the newer stuff by Satyricon, Immortal, Mayhem or Darkthrone so I didnt even bother buying the new Burzum

I thought Belus was quite good, haven't heard the others.
Kinda weird how he has been somewhat vocal about how he believes traditional Black Metal has become a parody of itself, yet he still creates it. I guess thats Varg for you.

This is indeed shaping up to be a great year for metal releases

The latest Burzum albums have been great since he got out of jail.




With that said... We're JUST NOW rounding the bend in the studio here in Denver doing final mixes. I'm proud to say we will be leaving sometime today! Thank fucking hell.

The new album sounds incredible. Production wise its what we've been waiting for. The material, flow and overall aura of the album has a very Harvest Floor feel to it but ramped up all the way around. The things people liked about Harvest Floor I think have been expanded upon on this one but with a tighter production. There is a huge intro to the last song similar to how we did it on Harvest Floor which came out fuckin awesome. Very excited to hear this thing front to back. There are some seriously bad ass guest vocal appearances on this too.

And then there's the cover/layout art.... boy do we have a doozy this time. I highly suggest buying the CD. LP won't be out for a few more months or so, but the CD will be worth it if you care about art and stuff like that. We went pretty over the top on the layout images. Don't want to give too much away right now...
